VOICE OF IRELAND: There was immense excitement and extended congratulations in the Ballylanders, Anglesboro and over a wider area when Keith Hanley from Charleville won the competition featuring the Voice of Ireland after a brilliant performance.The Gallahue hostel in Ballylanders was filled to capacity for the occasion,to his mother Alice(nee Gallahue)sister Eileen and his many relations for their endeavours in helping him to reach the utmost prize.Our wish for Keith is that he will enjoy many years of health and happiness and a bright future in the entertainment world.Well done Keith.

Memorial: All roads lead to Knockarron via Galbally and Knocklong on this Sunday May 5th for the unveiling of a memorial at Knockarron to commemorate four volunteers killed at Lackelly on May 2nd 1921 fighting in the war of independence .Knockarron community council extends a warm welcome to anyone to attend this special ocassionas a tribute to the brave men who lost their lives.Among those who were killed were in action in the area ,Tom Howard,Glenbrohane and Willie Riordan Cullane South,Ballylanders now the residence of the Hanley family.Roast Hog and refreshments to follow.Live music in Foxes Den from 6.30pm till late.
