CDA: The Annual General Meeting of the Cappamore Development will take place shortly and among the items for discussion will be the Rás Tailteann, The Gathering and the New Library & Arts Centre which is making great progress and hopes are high that it will be ready for July. AGM will take place on Monday 13 May at 8.30p.m. in Community Centre. All people from the community are welcome.

Milford Hospice: The annual church gate collection in aid of Milford Hospice will be held on 4th/5th May. Your support would be much appreciated.

Pat Ryan: The death took place on 24th April of Pat Ryan, Convent View, Cappamore.He had been resident in St. Anthony’s Nursing Home, Pallasgreen for a number of yearsbut he never lost touch with Cappamore. He visited the Daycare Centre regularly and was at the Cappamore Show 2012. He had been a member of the Show Committee for over 50 years and was honoured by the committee for his long years of service. Pat was always an ardent Fianna Fáil supporter and was a regular delegate to the Fianna Fáil Ard Fheis. A guard of honour was formed on both days by the Show Committee and the local Fianna Fáil cumann. Following Requiem Mass in St. Michael’s Church , Cappamore his burial took place in Clonkeen Churchyard. He is survived by his brother, Harry in Newport, sisters Mamie Blackwell and Annie Mai Nicholas, nephews ,nieces, relatives and friends.

Community Phone Link: Ballyhoura Rural Services is now operating a “Community Phone Link” service, in addition to our existing visitation service.

“Community Phone Link” consists of a friendly phone call once or twice a week from a trained member of staff and is available to anybody in the Ballyhoura area who would appreciate a regular call, particularly elderly people. The service is free of charge and operates Monday to Friday from 9a.m. to 5p.m.

Pa Smith on Air: Pa was recently was recently interviewed by John Moloney on East Limerick Community Radio. The interview deals with aspects of everyday living in Pa’s youth.
