NATIONAL SCHOOL: A Clothes Collection in aid of Tarbert National School will be held on Thursday February 28. Your support for this collection will be greatly appreciated as it can help provide much needed funds to ensure that the school is adequately funded to meet all its financial obligations.

GATHERING: A meeting of the Gathering Committee takes place tonight February 20 in the presbytery at 8pm. If you are unable to attend please send a representative from your Group or organisation. Note change of venue.

DEATH: Parishioners were saddened to learn of the death of Mary O’Sullivan of Church St. Tarbert and late of Abbeyfeale Co. Limerick after an illness borne with courage and dignity. Mary was a well respected member of our community and went quietly about her daily chores being devoted to her family. She will be sadly missed.

Mary’s remains were removed from St. Mary’s Funeral Home Tarbert to St Mary’s Church Tarbert on Wednesday February 13 at 8pm.

Requiem Mass for the repose of her soul was celebrated on Thursday February 14 at 11am by Fr. Danny Broderick P.P. Tarbert, Fr. Padraig Kennelly P.P. Ballylongford and Fr. Steve Kennelly retired were also present.

Mary is survived by her husband Finbar, Daughter Kim and son Michael, extended family, relations, neighbours and friends to whom our most sincere sympathy is extended. Interment took place in her native Abbeyfeale.

DEATH: Parishioners were shocked to learn of the untimely death of John Lavery of Toronto, Canada and formerly of Church St. Tarbert on February 13, 2013.

John was a member of a very popular Tarbert family and even though he had been living in Canada for several years his native Tarbert was never far from his mind. He made numerous visits home to spend time with his loved ones.

His remains were removed from St. Mary’s Funeral Home Tarbert on Saturday February 16 to St. Mary’s Church Tarbert at 9 pm. Requiem Mass for the repose of his soul was concelebrated on Sunday February 17 at 11am by Fr. Danny Broderick P.P., Fr. Philip O’Connell retired P.P. Ballylongford and Fr. John O’Connor retired P.P. London.

John is survived by his wife Catherine, daughters Alison, Jessica and Ashling, mother Joan, mother-in-law Ruth, brothers Kevin and James, sisters Mary and Frances, aunts, uncles, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins and a wide circle of friends to whom our deepest sympathy is extended. Interment took place in St Mary’s Cemetery Tarbert.
