WALK OF LIFE: The inaugural 5km Walk of Life in aid of Milford Hospice took place last Saturday 19th of October. This was a great opportunity for the people of the Mid West Region to support hospice care in our region.

Five walks took place simultaneously in University of Limerick, Ballyhoura/Kifinane, The Demesne, NCW, Murroe and the Curragh Chase (Kilcornan). The East Limerick walk took place in Glenstal Abbey, Murroe at 12pm and a great turnout of people was led off by Rugby legend John Hayes. Once again people were outstanding in their support not just in Glenstal but in all regions for a most deserving cause. Great credit must be attributed to Martin Kiely for his initiative for this mammoth task of fundraising for Milford Hospice Care. To coincide with Walk of Life Pallasgreen played its part with a Coffee afternoon in Michael and Teresa Ryan’s residence Moymore last Saturday afternoon. A grateful thanks to all who supported the event but most importantly their contribution to the Milford Hospice Care was fantastic with over €1000 raised. Well done to all

GAA NEWS: Last Saturday our U-13 footballers faced Ballybrown. Unfortunately despite a brave performance they went down on the night by 2-4 to two points. Last Sunday saw our U-16 footballers complete the double when they took on Claughaun in Claughaun in the County Shield final. A strong start saw Pallasgreen lead 1-3 to a point after fifteen minutes. The scores dried up for a while as the Pallasgreen players tried to force a second goal before half time, but three late points from Alan Cosgrave and Ryan Mawdsley saw the team lead at half time by 1-6 to a point. In the second half Claughaun start much the stronger, with four quick unanswered points. But this was the spur for Pallasgreen to reply who scored five points of their own, to run out deserving winners by 1-11 to 0-5. Scorers were: Ryan Mawdsley 1-4 (1 free), Alan Cosgrave 0-4 (2 frees), Mark Fitzgerald 0-1 (a free) and David Hannon 0-1.
