40th Anniversary, A Special Thanks: from Fr Sean O’Longaigh: I wish to express my gratitude to everybody who took part in the fortieth anniversary celebrations of my ordination last Saturday evening. It was a wonderful occasion and I greatly enjoyed it. I am aware that there are many, both known and unknown to me, who were involved in the planning and preparations. I wish to say a sincere thanks to all of you, the Pastoral Council and the Junior Pastoral Council, the choir, those who provided the sumptuous food in the hall and those who set up the tables and cleaned up afterwards. The young people who played the music later in the night; Mike McCarthy and his team, the Civil Defence. I wish to say a special thanks, too, to all of you who gave me cards and such generous gifts. It was a great joy to meet the large cross-section of the parishioners who attended the mass and came to the hall, from children to teenagers to adults and the elderly. I feel truly honoured by your presence and good wishes. It is a memory and experience I will always treasure. Thank you again.
