MPCC CREDIT UNION: The Board of Directors of MPCC Credit Union wish to advise that with effect from Friday, November 1, the credit union’s Mungret office will close at 5pm on Fridays and not re-open from 6 to 7pm. In the past, it is Directors of MPCC Credit Union who have voluntarily provided this additional evening service for members. Unfortunately, under the Credit Union Act of 2012, voluntary assistants of the credit union are no longer eligible to be Directors of the credit union. As a result, the credit union is no longer in a position to offer the extra evening service on Fridays to its Members in their Mungret office. The credit unions apologises for any inconvenience caused. Please note that on Fridays, Patrickswell office will continue to remain open until 7pm and our office in Ballybrown Community Centre will continue to be open from 7-8pm. Full details of all opening hours are available on www.mpcccreditunion.ie
SELF HELP AFRICA COFFEE MORNING: A fund-raising coffee morning takes place on Friday, October 25 from 10am – 12 noon in the MPCC Credit Union’s Dooradoyle office. Dave Noble, an employee of the Credit Union, will be taking part in the Tour De Ethiopia in mid-November in aid of Self Help Africa. This trip is to raise awareness and raise funds for the charity. Dave and 9 others will cycle over 400 KM in very hilly terrain at a high altitude (highest point will be 3,025 metres or 10,000 feet) over 4 days and then run in the Great Ethiopian Run in Addis Ababa on November 24. During their week in Ethiopia, they will get to meet rural communities and see for themselves the rural development projects that Self Help Africa has implemented in the region. All donations will be gratefully accepted and every cent collected will go directly to Self Help Africa. Details of the Tour De Ethiopia 2013 can be found on Facebook.
CRAFT FAIR: The 25th Annual Craft Fair will take place in the Castle Oaks House Hotel in Castleconnell, on Bank Holiday Sunday and Monday, October 27 and 28, from 12 to 6 each day. All of the crafts at the fair are Irish made and of the highest quality. It is a great way to start your Christmas shopping. So, come along, support our craft entrepreneurs and buy Irish! As well as wonderful crafts, we will have the Munster Senior & Minor Hurling cups on display, and you will have the chance to win in our raffle, or in the draw for tickets to see the boys of One Direction at their concert in Dublin next year. It could be worth the trip!
We are non-profit and all proceeds go back into voluntary groups in the parish. Follow us on Facebook!
