FR. TADHG CELEBRATES HIS SILVER JUBILEE IN AHANE CHURCH THIS SATURDAY: Lisnagry native, Fr. Tadgh Herbert, C.Ss.R., will celebrate Mass on this Saturday, in Ahane Church, at 8.00pm, to mark the occasion of 25 years as a Redemptorist priest. One of the reasons he chose the Redemptorists was a desire to go abroad on the missions, either to Brazil or the Philippines. He got his wish and, as part of seminary formation, spent two years in Brazil before his Ordination. Fr Tadgh was Ordained on October 1988 and based in Ireland for two years before returning to Brazil in 1990, where he spent the next 18 years. He is now leader of the mission team based in Mount St Alphonsus, Limerick.
He is son of the late Sean and Maureen Herbert, Lisnagry. Sean was a member of the great Ahane hurling of the 40s, winning eight county championships, a national league medal and six Railway cup medals with Limerick.
Fr Tadgh wishes to extend an invitation to all parishioners to help celebrate his Silver Jubilee with him. Best wishes for your future in your ministery Fr Tadgh.

CANTAIRI LUIMNI: County Limerick’s newest choir welcomes all singers without auditions! Cantairi Luimni – Limerick singers are a group of interested people who just come together for the love of singing. People who had always wanted to sing, but never plucked up enough courage to have a go, or they were told in school that they could not sing and were not allowed in the CHOIR, this choir provides the opportunity! Perhaps you are experienced choral singers looking to have a bit of fun and let your hair down? Some have joined from well-established church and concert choirs and they encourage those who may be new to choral singing, by bringing with them a wealth of choral background experience! All are welcome. Cantairi Luimni rehearses every Monday evening from 7:10pm until 9:30pm with a break for tea and coffee, in Lisnagry National School Hall. Choral and Artistic Director – Timothy Schinnick, Kilcornan, County Limerick. Cantairi Luimni will have their launch night this Saturday, in Ahane GAA Clubhouse, at 8.30pm.
