The reader for Ashford Mass this Sunday morn is Helen Forde with Eucharistic Minister Denis Casey and Patrick Forde with basket collector Patsy Cunningham. The servers for Ashford mass this Sunday are Ben Mulcahy Mauricetown and T.J. Kelly Ballagh. The Apostolate of Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration continues in Ashford Church on Fridays from 10am to 7pm until the year ends.

SEISUN: The weekly seisun shows continue on Thursdays at The Devon Inn Templeglantine and commences at 9pm and all are welcome.

FORESTRY MASS: Once again this year Mass will be celebrated at Ballinruane Forestry gates Kilmeedy on Sunday August 25th to commence at 2pm. The mass will commemorate the workers who worked there at the beginning and over the years. All interested please come along to same.

MILFORD HOSPICE: On Sunday September 1st the annual Milford Hospice Harvest Fair, at the arena in the University Of Limerick. Broadford I.C.A. have a box in Moloney’s Foodstore for non perishable goods for the grocery stall on the day. All contributions and donations most welcome for this worthy cause.

FLEADH CHEOIL: The 63rd Fleadh Cheoil na hEireann takes place in Derry this weekend with an expectancy of 200,000 people converging on the area from all over the world. Best wishes to all participants in this event.

YOUTH 2000: The Youth 2000 Summer Festival for young people age 16 to 35 years takes place from this Thursday to Sunday August 18th. The venue is Cistercian College Roscrea Co. Tipperary. This Festival is donation only with a free bus operating from Newcastle West. All interested dial 069-62142 or visit www.youth2000.ie.

CONSECRATION: This Thursday August 15th is the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Also on the day the consecration of Ireland to the Immaculate Heart of Mary by the Irish Bishops will take place at Knock Shrine.

CONGRATS: A hearty congratulations to Fr Paddy Noonan on the recent celebration of his Golden Jubilee in the priesthood. Fr Paddy a Raheenagh native has been based in Mississippi U.S.A. since his ordination but loves returning home. Fr Paddy and his extended family celebrated his fantastic vocation with Mass in Raheenagh and afterwards at the Fitzgerald’s Woodland’s House Hotel in Adare. The best of wishes and good health to Fr Paddy as he continues our Lord’s ministery.

RURAL EMPLOYMENT SERVICE: The Rural Employment Service (RES) works with individuals who are long term unemployed and who want to make a positive change in their lives and who see employment as a central part in that change. CAR AND BOOT SALE: The monthly car boot sale for September takes place on Sunday 1st from 9am to 3pm at the Community Centre in Newcastle West. Admission is €2 and all proceeds to the local Community radio station West Limerick 102fm. All are welcome to browse along with family and bag a bargain on the day.

DANA: The Former Eurovision winner Dana Rosemary Scallon will be this year’s guest at the Irish National Grandparents Pilgrimage in Knock Co. Mayo. The latter takes place on Sunday September 8th. All welcome.

WALK OF LIFE: A Walk of Life fundraising drive in aid of Milford Hospice is scheduled to take place on Saturday October 19th.

LOURDES: A pilgrimage to Lourdes from Shannon direct to Lourdes takes place on this September 22nd to 27th. All pilgrims will stay in Hotel Anito. All details from Marion Pilgrimages at 01-18788159 or Elma in Newcastle West 069-62605. All are welcome.

KNOCK: On this coming Sunday August 18th a pilgrimage takes place to Our Lady’s Shrine Knock. The bus will depart from Dromcollogher at 8am sharp and will travel via Broadford. The fare is €20 and book now with Kitty on 063-84167. All Killeedy patrons welcome.

COLLECTION: The annual collection for the upkeep and maintenance of the Mass Rock takes place at both masses on this weekend August 17th and 18th. Please be generous in your response.
