CHARITY CYCLE: Glin GAA Charity Cycle in association with Mid West Cancer takes place on Saturday 17 August. Registration is at 9am. Cost €30. All are welcome.

GLIN ESTUARY SWIM CLUB: Our annual charity swim takes place on August 31. All funds raised this year will go to the Irish Heart Foundation. Closing date for registration is Saturday 24 August. Training sessions are in progress. For more information contact Maria on 087 2418562.

ICA: ICA will hold a Whist Drive at Cloverfield Centre on Tuesday next August 20 at 8.30pm. All welcome.

GLIN HISTORICAL SOCIETY: Visit to Scattery Island, Sunday, 18 August 2013 (outing). 10:30am meet at Glin Church Car Park. 11am Board Tarbert to Killimer ferry. At Killimer we visit the Colleen Bawn monument and grave at Old Burrane Graveyard. Proceed to Kilrush for coffee break before taking the Scattery Island ferry at 1pm After a short boat trip we will be met by our OPW guides Stephen and Margaret. Return from Scattery at 4pm

Please bring drinks and food for the three hours on Scattery, as apart from toilets there are few facilities.

Wear strong walking shoes/boots and bring sun cream and rain coats to cover the Irish Summer.

TENNIS SOCIAL EVENING: During the month of August on Monday evenings from 6pm onwards, adults who wish to play a social game of tennis are welcome to join us at the tennis court in Glin. All interested welcome. So dust off your old tennis racquets or if you cant find one, we have some spare ones available for use. Contact Siobhan 087/2225179 or just turn up.
