CHURCH NEWS: Minister of the Word is Anne McMahon for Saturday June 8 and Pat McMorrow for Sunday June 9. Eucharistic Ministers are Mairead Lynch and Anne McMahon for Saturday, Josephine Horan and Kathleen Holland for Sunday.
CONFIRMATION: Congratulations to all the children who were Confirmed by Bishop Leahy in Kilcornan last Wednesday. A special word of thanks to the teachers and staff of the National School for their commitment and dedication to the education and development of the young people of our Community academically and otherwise.
Many thanks to everybody who helped in any way in preparing the church and grounds for this very special occasion. As is customary the Pastoral Council, Community Council and the Parents Committee provided light refreshments for all the children, their Families, the Clergy and Teachers in the Community Centre after the Ceremony. This also provided an opportunity for everyone to meet our new Bishop. Thanks to all who helped also to Maureen in the Coach Inn for the baking.

SUPPORTING CHILDREN THROUGH BEREAVEMENT: The Newcastle West Family and Community Hub (located upstairs at the NCW Community Centre) will be holding a workshop on Wednesday June 12th on supporting children with bereavement or coping with a dying family member. Running from 7.30-9.30pm, the session will be led by Child Psychologist and Play Therapist Tina O’Brien and funded by the Compassionate Communities Project with the support of West Limerick Resources.
TRADITIONAL LIME MORTAR TRAINING: West Limerick Resources will be offering a one week training programme (Monday-Friday, 9.30am-4pm approx) on the use of traditional lime mortar to members of local communities who are interested in undertaking simple conservation and repair work at historic sites (such as graveyards) subject to the necessary permission and guidance of Limerick County Council Archaeologist. This hands—on training initiative is free to those interested in becoming involved in conservation and enhancement work. Limited places available. Registration essential. Clothes ,bags, shoes, belts, bed linen, towels, soft toys, textiles, mobile phones, books accepted (no school books, magazines or diaries).
