KNOCKAINEY LADIES FOOTBALL: season has gotten off to a triumphant start with the U14s beating Galtee Gales in the B Shield Final on Wednesday 29th May. Knockainey girls were determined not to let this final slip away from them, their recent loss by 2 points to Ahane in Rathkeale was put at the back of their minds, and they got on with the task ahead. The girls put on a great display in the first half with a score of 1-08. Galtee Gales however had no score as of yet but the knockainey girls went back out on that field for the second half and played their hearts out. Knockainey continued to dominate the second half proving that they weren’t going to get lackadaisical. Goalie, defenders, midfielders & attackers all did what was necessary to win this Shield Final & congratulations to all the players, manager and coaches Gloria Cunningham, Anthony Cunningham and Anthony Kirby. Joint Captains Eimear Kirby & Katie Madden lifted the shield to a roar of elation from team-mates & supporters! Final score Knockainey 2-13, Galtee Gaels 1-1
