FESTIVAL LAUNCH: The launch of the Na Fianna Festival took place at the Greenwood Inn on Friday night of last week, events are being organised from Tuesday through to Sunday, 30th July to August 4th, thats the August bank holiday weekend.
LADIES CLUB: There will be a special meeting of Ardpatrick Ladies Club on Monday evening June 10th at 8pm, that takes place in the Community Centre, all members are requested to attend.
TIDY TOWNS: Its that time of the year again when the national adjudicators will be visiting our village, planting of the flower beds in the parks and public areas is ongoing, hanging baskets and window boxes are also filled for summer display. Village residents are making a great effort, Ardpatrick is looking well, the Community Council, the body responsible for tidy towns would like to thank the many people who have donated flowers and plants, we must all be aware of litter and bin it when we see it.
WALKS: Bally houra Bears will have an evening walk from Glenosheen on this Thursday June 6th at 7.30, contact 085-760 5268.
On Saturday the “C” walk starts from Ardpatrick Community Centre at 11am, contact 087-416 6769.
On Sunday there is a “A” walk from Cush carpark at 10am, 5-6 hours, contact
087-650 7593, also on Sunday there is a further “A” walk from Macroom to Ballyvourney, meet in Ballyvourney, for carpool at 10 am contact 086-382 4711.
APRIL WEATHER: The past month was rather cool with spells of rain at times, total rainfall 90.9mm (3.58 ins), rain was recorded on 19 of the 31 days.
Highest maximum air temperature + 19 C recorded on the 29th, lowest maximum air temperatures + 3.2 C on the 17th. Soil temperatures ranged from + 7.2 C in the first two weeks to 13.6 C at the end of the month.
