RETREAT: A three day healing retreat led by Rev Fr Xavier Raj CSSR India takes place on June 5th, 6th and 7th. The venue is St Paul’s Church Dooradoyle Limerick from 6:30pm to 10pm each evening. All are welcome to attend.
KNOCK: Our Lady’s Pastoral area Pilgrimage to Knock is scheduled for Sunday June 9th. The bus fare is €16 and all Killeedy Pilgrims can hand in their names to Keating’s shop Raheenagh. All pilgrims will celebrate a Mass for the pastoral area and join in the programme of devotion.
REMEMBRANCE CEREMONY: A Remembrance service for family and loved ones who have died in the Mid Western Regional Hospital Limerick in the past year will take place in St Paul’s Church Dooradoyle on Sunday June 9th at 9:30am. All are welcome to attend and it is requested to bring a symbol or photo of your love one and if you wish you can place same in the remembrance area.
HARVEST FAIR: The annual Milford Hospice Harvest Fair takes place on Sunday September 1st. The venue this year is the U.L. arena in the U.L. campus only a ten minute walk from Milford Care Centre and all support and donations appreciated.
VINTAGE RALLY: Dromcollogher Fair and Vintage Rally is scheduled to take place on Sunday June 23rd. All events will kick off at 1:30pm. Note the centre is still collecting.
CARBOOT: The indoor market and car boot sale for June is scheduled for Sunday 9th from 9am to 3pm at the Community Centre Newcastle West. Admission is €2 and all children are free. This is a fundraiser for the local community radio and further details from Marian on 087-6866450.
MONTESSORI:The Montessori school in Ashford will hold its annual open day on Wednesday June 19th from 10am to 12 noon. All parents welcome especially all with a view to enrolment as this Montessori is a home from home.
ALL IRELAND NUN’S RACE: As part of the Gathering celebrations in Abbeyfeale July 15-21 the All Ireland nun’s race will commence at 8:00pm on Monday July 15th and travel from the Town Park into the Square. Organiser Shane O’Connell says ‘Keep the Faith and run the Race’ and tells us that the race will be followed by a world record attempt of most nuns doing the Harlem Shake! Entries welcome. CEILI: The final ceili at Halla Tadhg Gaelach Tournafulla before the Summer recess is scheduled for Friday 14th June from 9:30pm to 1am. Mr music man will be Johnny Reidy with tea and refreshments and all are welcome to waltz along.
RACE NIGHT: West Limerick 102fm are holding a fundraising night at Murphy’s Bar in Abbeyfeale this Saturday June 8th to commence at 8pm. A horse can be purchased for €10 or a 50% share for €5. The tickets and the horses can be purchased at the radio station or any volunteer member contact the station at 069-66200. It promises to be a fun evening for all.
CLUB DRAW: Killeedy G.A.A. will once again be holding their annual Club Draw to commence on the weekend of 15th June. This is the clubs main fundraiser each year and is vital for the day to day running of the club. They would like to thank everyone who has supported the draw in the past and hope you will continue to support again this year. The mass server for Ashford church commencing their week this coming Sunday is Colm McMahon Gortnaclohy, The apostolate of Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration continues on Fridays in Ashford Church.
W.L. CLUB: The West Limerick set dancing club next session will take place on Sunday June 9th at the Railway Bar in Abbeyfeale. The doors open at 9:30pm when Donie Nolan takes to the stage. So don those dancing shoes and waltz those cares away.
FEILE 2013: The Féile is fast approaching on the 5th to the 7th of July. We are hosting Nenagh of Tipperary. On Thursday 23rd May Ashford and Raheenagh National Schools gave a warm welcome to camogie president Angela Lawlor and other G.A.A. and camogie stars to promote the Féile. Killeedy will be the venue for the play off stage of the Féile. There will be a full day of matches on Saturday 6th June when we welcome our neighbours Newcastle West, Michael Davitts of Dermy and Nenagh, with the day finishing with a semi final of Division 1 at 615pm in Raheenagh.
GORM AGUS BÁN: This year Killeedy Camogie Club along with Killeedy Bord Na nOg are holding another Summer camp in mid July.

SUPPORTING CHILDREN THROUGH BEREAVEMENT: The Newcastle West Family and Community Hub (located upstairs at the Community centre Newcastle West) will be holding a workshop on Wednesday June 12th on supporting children with bereavement or coping with a dying family member. Running from 7:30-9:30pm the session will be led by Child Psychologist and Play Therapist Tina O’Brien and funded by the Compassionate Communities Project with the support of West Limerick Resources.
