WEEKLY NOVENA: Every Tuesday at the 10am and 5.45pm Mass there is a novena celebrated in honour of St. Anthony. All are very welcome to attend. Petition leaflets are available at the statue of St. Anthony. You can leave your petitions there to be included during the novena.

ADORATION: Adoration is held here in the Cathedral from Monday to Saturday. Morning prayer is offered for various needs; Monday is for the dead, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday is private intention, Friday is Victims of Abuse, Saturday is Forgiveness for the sins of the Church. Adoration is from 9am to 10am.

BAPTISMS: Baptism’s takes place on Saturday evenings at 4.30pm only. When booking a baptism please call in to St John’s Parish Office and please bring with you the birth certificate of the child. For parents who are not living in St John’s parish you will need a note of permission from one of the priests in your own parish. The baptism preparation meeting will take place the first and third Tuesday of each month evenings in the Parish Centre. Both parents must attend the baptism preparation meeting, this prep meeting must be attended before the baptism can take place, the Godparents are invited to this meeting also. MASS TIMES: Weekdays at 10am and 5.45pm. Saturday at 10am and Vigil at 6pm. Sunday at 8am, 10.30am, 12noon & 7pm. Holy Days of obligation Vigil Mass will be at 5.45pm the previous day (except weekends), on the feast day at 10am, 12noon and 5.45pm.

PARISHIONER: If you have a family member in a nursing home and they would like a visit from one of the priests of St John’s parish then please contact the Sacristan or the Parish Office on 414624

PARISH LOTTO: The results of Saturday, March 23 were 12, 16, 23 and 26. There was no winner,. Next weeks jackpot will be €11,125 & will take place March 30. We thank you for your support.

TAKE CARE: Just a reminder when visiting or attending the cathedral for Mass never leave personal items or your handbag unattended at any time.

CONFESSION: Confession is available every Saturday morning from 10.30am to 11.30am and before the Vigil Mass from 5.30pm. A priest is also available on request.

DIVINE MERCY SUNDAY: Divine Mercy Devotions take place here in the Cathedral on Sunday, April 7 starting at 2pm to 6pm with Mass at 3pm. Full details are on the notice board at the back of the Church.=

ALZHEIMER SOCIETY: Are you caring for a Family Member Living with Dementia? The Alzheimer Society of Ireland will run a course, Living with Dementia/Learning Together, 1 evening a week over 5 consecutive weeks, for family carers of people with dementia in the Mid West Alzheimer Society Regional Office, 2 Floor, George’s Quay House, George’s Quay, Limerick, on Thursdays April 18, April 25, May 2, May 9 and May 16. The course will cover topics such as Introduction to Dementia, Communication Strategies, Understanding Behaviour, Assisting with Personal Care, Engaging in Life Activities and more. It will also encourage family carers to look after their own health and wellbeing and provide information on services and supports. Carers who attended courses over the last two years mentioned the importance of the following “Realising I wasn’t alone and that there is help out there “The very professional friendly presentations, the positive advice and information, the pleasure of sharing experiences with others.”

LENT WEEK SEVEN: Easter Sunday, March 31. “This is the revelation of God’s love for us, that God sent his only Son into the world that we might have life through him.” John 4:9. This Easter Sunday we celebrate the new life that thousands of the world’s poorest people can look forward to through the generosity of parishioners here at home.
