UNISLIM AT ADARE HERITAGE CENTRE: Unislim has a new venue and leader. From 3 April Jenny will start at the Adare Heritage Centre on Wednesdays, 8-10am. Use the fantastic “Forever Free” plan and get on track to lose 1stone or more for the summer. No joining fee for the 3rd and 10th April, just pay the normal weekly fee. Jenny: 086-8390949.

ADARE LADIES GAELIC FOOTBALL: The Ladies Gaelic Football Season for 2013 has started and Adare is actively looking for players of all ages from Under 8 to Under 16 to join its ranks. Players are welcome from Adare and its surrounding areas. There is no requirement for players to live in the parish of Adare. If you are interested in further information please email us on or check out our website or call the relevant team manager (numbers on the web-site). Training for U12 / U14 / U16 has already started. Please check our website for details or contact the team manager. Training for U8 and U10 will commence on Monday 8 April 2013 in the Manor Fields (time TBC). Congratulations to Sophie O’Callaghan and Lauren Ryan who recently represented Limerick at Under 14 level in the opening rounds of the Munster “B” Championship against Waterford, Tipperary and Clare. Congratulations to Kate McSweeney and Rebecca Toomey who are representing Limerick at Under 16 level this season. Their first match was against Waterford last week-end. A FUNdamentals Coaching Course will be run by Limerick Ladies Football on Saturday 13 April in a Limerick venue (yet to be confirmed). ADARE ACTIVE RETIREMENT: Adare Active Retirement hold Bowling every Tuesday at 3pm at Embury Close Hall, everyone is welcome to attend.

ADARE COMMUNITY COUNCIL COMMUNITY RESOURCE OFFICE: The Adare Community Council have now set up a Community Information Office based in the Village Hall. Opening hours at present are 10am to 4pm Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Currently a Data base of all local services, clubs and amenities as well as a Community Event Diary are being developed, so if you would like to submit up to date information about your organisation please ring 0894348105 or email

ADARE PARENT AND TODDLER GROUP: Adare Mother and Toddler Group is held in the upstairs room in the Heritage Centre. They meet at 10.15 until 12.15. They would like to issue a special invitation to all parents of children from 0-5 to come and join us on Friday mornings especially Dads, childminders and grandparents minding children in the afore mentioned age group. If you are expecting your first baby and would like some advice and a chat please do come along. The cost is €3 per family and includes tea, coffee, biscuits and treats for the toddlers! LIMERICK COUNTY A.A. MEETINGS:There is a closed meeting of Alcoholics Anonymous (A.A) in the C.B.S National School,Rathkeale Rd, Adare every Sunday night at 8:30 for anyone who might think they have a problem with alcohol or who need help to stop drinking. PARISH has news of the parish, schools, marriage information, etc. It is a very comprehensive website with a lot of local parish information. There will also be a virtual tour of the church upon completion of the restoration project.

ADARE MARKET: Adare County Market is held every Saturday from 10am to 2pm in front of the Village Hall. There are a wide variety of artisan, homemade goods for sale which including Fresh Fruit and Vegetables, Home Baking, Handknits, Handmade Greeting Cards and Jewellery, Free Range Eggs, Homemade Jams (Seasonal), Handmade Crafts including an Alterations Service. We look forward to seeing you there.
