RECENT DEATH: The death occurred on Saturday, March 16 at Beechwood Nursing Home, Newcastle west of Eily White nee O’Leary of Ards, Ballyagran, wife of the late Tom and loving mother of Thomas. Removal took place on Monday evening from O’Grady’s Funeral Parlour, Ballingarry to St. Michael’s Church, Ballyagran. After requiem Mass on Tuesday, Eily was laid to rest in Newtownshandrum Cemetery. In his homily Fr. Shire spoke about Eily being a member of Castletown Tennis Club for decades and she loved to sing and joined in the sing song anywhere, she could always be heard singing the hymns at the open air Mass at Our Lady’s Well or the graveyard Mass in November so it was no surprise when Maura Nolan accompanied by Eithne Egan supplied the singing and music for her Mass.
