Dún Bleisce Historical Society: would like to thank all who attended their recent fund raising table quiz at Moore’s. 23 tables were present & the quiz was won by Brendan Ryan & James Quigley. Second: Fintan Kennedy, Denis Barry, Don & Paul Anderson.

East Limerick Red Cross AGM: will be held on Monday 20th Jan from 8 to 9pm in the meeting room in Doon Community centre. All are welcome to attend.

Dún Bleisce Tidy Towns: would like to thank all who participated in the Kilmoylan Woods walk on Sat. 28th Dec. A sum of €212 has been forwarded to Trocaire.

“Bleisce”-Doon Parish Journal: the editorial committee of “Bleisce” would like to thank all who helped with the production of the 22nd edition of the journal. A limited number of copies are still available in the local shops.

Prayer Meeting: will resume on Thur. 16th Jan at 7:30pm in Convent Chapel.

Doon Adoration Team: We urgently need Adorers on Wed. For the following hours. 3-4pm, 5-6pm & 6-7pm. If you are not already doing so & you would like to commit to spending one of the above hours with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, simply contact John O’Brien 380614, Mary MacCleod 380987 or Marica Mooney 380240.

East Limerick Centre for Further Education & Training: (formally St. Michaels, College, Cappamore) are launching an exciting programme of leisure classes. We also have FETAC courses in Care of the Elderly at level 5 & Childcare at level 6. Some of these courses are free to eligible participants. Classes commence from Mon. 13th Jan. Doon Community Council: are coming to the end of their term. Preparations are underway for elections to be held on Sun. 9th Mar. Nomination forms will be posted out to all household in the parish of Doon on Mon. 13th Jan. If you do not receive a nomination form please contact Stephen Byrne on (086) 3035646. A member of the Garda Siochanna will be present in the Community Centre on the first & last Thur. of every month, between 11am & 1pm.

Doon G.A.A:  Lotto: 6th Jan. 2014 No’s drawn 1-8-14-24, no winner. Next week’s draw will take place in The Local Bar with a jackpot of €16,400. Membership: €20 adults & €5 juvenile. Juvenile AGM: will take place on Wed. 29th Jan. @ 8pm in the Clubhouse. All are welcome.
