SOCCER: After a long lay off our u15s resumed their league campaign against Kilbeheny at home. The opening quarter was very even but we took the lead when Declan Kenny latched on to a great through ball from Brian O’Grady to take the lead. Declan then became provider when he cut the ball back from the end line for Luke O’Dea tofire home. Dylan Holmes added a third when the keeper spilled the ball and Dylan converted. We were flattered to be 3-0 up at the break but we had taken our chances. The second half was very even but late on we added a fourth when Brian O’Grady scored at the second attempt. A great performance considering the long lay off. Team: Josh Sheehan, Shane O’Grady, Rian O’Dea, John Egan, Eamon Balfry, Gavin Lonregan, Robbie Holmes, BrianO’Grady, Declan Kenny, Dylan Holmes, Luke O’Dea, sub: Andrew LinehamOur U11s travelled to high flying kilbeheny and put in a great performance. Down 1-0 early on, Jake Leamy scoreda super equaliser. We had may chances to take the lead but disaster struck with time almost up when we fell 2-1behind. Straight from the kick off Jake O’Riordan made a super run and crashed a superb shot off the crossbar but Aaron Hanley was on hand to convert and give us a very deserved equaliser. Training continues every Wednesday in Cappamore at 7pm for U11 & U10and every Thursday in the Soccer field at 7pm for U15s.
