CREDIT UNION AGM: The Annual General Meeting of Athea & District Credit Union was held at the Credit Union office on Friday December 20. Timmy Woulfe, Chairman, presided at the meeting at which there was a big attendance. Eilish Geoghegan read the minutes of last year’s AGM. Timmy Woulfe stated that last year brought many changes to the running of the organization including internal audits and qualifications needed to become an officer of the Credit Union.
It was great to see that Athea Credit Union was in a good financial state. John O’Connell and John Joe Barrett retired during the year and are a great loss to the Credit Union. Both these officers had given untold help in the formation and running of the Credit Union down all these years since 1968. It was also noted with much regret that Timmy Woulfe is also stepping down as Chairperson and this is due to new rules concerning the years spent in such a position. Timmy Woulfe wished a Happy Christmas to all present and MaryAnn Stack and Eilish Geoghegan gave a Christmas present to all who attended.
