GLIN RED CROSS: The Glin branch of the Red Cross are actively seeking new members as well as encouraging existing members to consider re-training in CFR (Cardiac First Response). Members who joined up with the Glin branch will be contacted on a gradual basis to encourage same. This is an invaluable skill, as it involves treating members of our community who may suffer cardiac arrest. As a Cardiac First Responder, when you answer a call for help, you can be confident that you have given that person the best possible chance of recovery. You have provided the initial links in the chain of survival.

In brilliant sunshine, on the banks of the majestic Shannon estuary a community came together to enjoy a day of healthy competitive sport and banter too. Our young people gave a thrilling display of effort in a sporting manner that was remarkable, which epitomised the motto of the Community Games – mens sana in corpore sano. This was a truly community effort and thanks sincerely to everyone who helped to make this such a successful day. Picnic food supplied by Ryan’s and I believe that this will be a feature in all future Glin Community Sports days.
