Mass in Castlemahon Cemetery: Monday next, June 24th, is the feast of St. John the Baptist and evening mass will be celebrated in Castlemahon cemetery by Fr. John Duggan P.P at 8.00pm. Looking forward to favorable weather and a good attendance. As in previous years, the open air mass will be offered for the souls of all buried in the cemetery. Much thanks and appreciation to the good helpers for the clean appearance of the whole cemetery grounds and surroundings. All families who have relatives buried in Castlemahon are very welcome to attend and pray for their dead. A collection for the upkeep and maintenance will be taken up and your support will be greatly appreciated.
Dromcollogher Fair/ Vintage Rally: From Mid-day onward on Sunday next, June 23rd, all roads lead to Dromcollogher, for their annual fair and vintage rally, which commences at 1.30pm. there will be plenty of side shows to entertain the large crowd expected to attend from Car boot sale, bouncing castles, dog judging, tug of war, Irish step dancing, and good music to be enjoyed by all, there will also be a Dick Brady memorial vintage rally. Proceeds will be in aid of the local respite care centre, so please bring along your family and friends for a most enjoyable day out and you will also be supporting a very worthy cause. Looking forward to a fine summer’s day for the young and old to enjoy in the ideal roadside park adjacent to the town.
Summer Fair Thank you: Following this years successful May fair held in Coolyroe on Sunday 26th May, Fr. John Duggan P.P at the weekend masses on June 7th/8th, Outlined the excellent results for each stall and for donations received. After paying for expenses, the net proceeds were €6,480. He thanked all who donated items for the various stalls and the good operators and helpers in each stall. Finally a special thank you to the Coolyroe Hall Committee for the use of the building and all the organizers and everyone who contributed to making this years summer fair another outstanding success.
