School extension: work commenced last wekk on the construction of a classroom and special need room in St John’s NS. These rooms will replace pre-fab buildings that have been in use for many years. Work is expected to be completed by early next year.

crossword competition: congratulations are extended to Cratloe hurler David O’Gorman, Brickhill who won the Sunday Independent crossword competition last week.

Recent wedding: Best wishes are extended to Deirdre Claffin, daught of Jack and Mary, Brickhill to Robert Conlon in St John’s church last week. The groom plays football with Cratloe. And the reception was held in the Castle Oaks Hotel.

County ploughing competition: The Clare County Ploughing competition which was postponed a few weeks ago has been rescheduled for April 21 at the Hannon farm in Killulla, Newmarket-on-Fergus
