Parteen National School Fundraiser: Parteen National School will be holding a fundraiser Friday, 19th April. The fundraiser will take place in McMahons pub, Blackwater. There will be finger food and spot prizes on the night. Shantytown will provide the music on the night. Recent death: The death occurred recently of Michael Kennedy, Ballynantymore. The late Michael was in his mid 80’s and was widely known throughout the area through his work in machinery. With his wife Joan, they also ran a very successful shop for many years.

He is survived by his wife Joan, daughters Mary and Eileen, brothers and sister. He was buried in Ballycannon Cemetery on April 2nd.

Parteen GAA: Well done to Parteen Intermediate hurlers who beat Corofin on Saturday last in the Clare Cup. The game finished on the scoreline Parteen 4-12 Corofin 1-16. Parteen Junior hurlers beat Feakle in the second round of the league on the scoreline, Parteen 3-16 Feakle 1-15.

U12’s appearance in Croke Park: Parteen U12 Hurlers played with great pride and commitment for the club on Tuesday last in Croke Park, meeting teams from other counties( Limerick, Cork, Waterford). Each of the 21 players got to play a game and a half for the club on the famous pitch.

Parteen GAA Club said “ A big thank you to all the parents that travelled to Dublin on the day and to Connor Nestor , Roddy McDermott, Jennifer Small, Tracey McGleenan, Niamh Cooney and Benny McAvoy for all their work on what was another great event for the club”.

Parteen St. Nicholas Lotto Draw: The Lotto draw took place at Brownes bar on Sunday 7th April. There was no overall winner. Numbers drawn were 3 ,4, 12 & 14.

Lucky dip winners were: Ger Sherlock, Ardnacrusha Printers; Edmund Walsh, Sallybank, Truagh; Jude Haskett, Parteen; Thelca Roche, Ardnacrusha; Ryan O’Connor, Parkroe and Paraic Conlon, Castlebank, Ardnacrusha.

Nexts Sunday nights draw(14th April) for a jackpot of €20,000 takes place at Larkins.

Come Dine with me: Last week saw Chris Ryan, Joe Maloney and Alistair battling it out with super entries in the popular ‘Come Dine with me’ competition. Well done to Joe Maloney who was victorious on the night. This week, Ned Walsh will take on Alex Norris in the Daggers Bar, Blackwater.
