CHURCH NEWS: The Eucharistic Ministers for Saturday April 6 are Mary O’Neill and Margaret O’Leary, and for Sunday April 7 are Josephine Horan and Kathleen Holland. Ministers of the Word are Margaret O’Leary for Saturday and Pat Nash for Sunday.

COMMUNITY COUNCIL: The Annual Road Clean Up 2013. Two nights have been chosen for the Annual Roadside Clean up for groups to clean up their own area roadsides.On Tuesday April 16 the Main N 69 roadside will be cleaned and we will meet in the Community Centre Car Park at 7 pm. Refuse sacks etc. will be available. Please wear High Visibility Clothing. The turnout last year was disappointing so we appeal for as many as possible to assist this year. Your efforts will make a huge improvement to the appearance of our roadways.

GROW IT YOURSELF: Limerick West GIY with the aim of inspiring people to grow their own food will hold its March meeting on Thursday 18th April at 7.00 pm in D&M Garden Centre, Croagh, with new growers and old hands all welcome. This month’s talk will be given by Chris who will speak about companion planting and it’s benefits. This will also be our second seed and plant swap of the season so please bring any unwanted seeds or excess plants and who knows you might just pick up that seed or plant you have been looking for. There is no need to bring anything if you don’t have spares and you can still take what you see during the swap.

In June and July we will be taking Limerick West GIY on the road visiting some of the many interesting gardens of other members. If you would like to host a meeting at your garden let us know at the next meeting and a month that would suit.

BANTRACHT NA TUAITHE: Kilcornan Community Hall will be the venue for the Drama Finals between Ballyhahill/Loughill and Cappamore on Friday next April 12 commencing 8.15pm approx. Pallaskenry ICA set dancers will then give a demonstration of their skills.

Information on ICA will also be available and the possibility of setting up a new guild in Kilcornan discussed. Everybody welcome .Bí Linn agus Fáilte.

FASHION SHOW: Fashion Show in aid of Limerick Youth Pilgrimage. A Fashion Show will take place in Fitzgerald’s Woodlands House Hotel on Tuesday, 16 April 2013, commencing at 8.00p.m. Shops taking part are Bella Sola and Kimono, Newcastlewest and Mike O’Connell Menswear and Dress Hire, Limerick. MC on the night will be Richard Lynch of ILOVELIMERICK.com Hair will be by Mary’s Hair Salon, Croom. A Cheese and Wine Reception will precede the show. On the night there will be a prize for Best Dressed Woman and Trendiest Man. Some of the young people will perform Live Entertainment at the interval.

Every year 90 young people from all over Limerick travel to Lourdes as part of the Diocesan Pilgrimage. The young people go as volunteers and spend the week working as helpers; bringing patients to and from the various ceremonies, as well as talking, listening and getting to know them. The generosity of the young people ensures that the Diocese can bring lots of Limerick patients and know that the young people who travel will make the experience memorable for the patients.

Monies raised from this fashion show will all go towards the Limerick Youth Pilgrimage. Your support would be very much appreciated.
