THANK YOU: Caitiona O Dea would like to extend a huge thank you to all who supported Daffodil Day on Friday, March 26th, in aid of the Irish Cancer Society. Total amount already lodged is €774. A special thank you to Bruree National School for their donation and to Mrs Lynch for the money collected at cards in Athlacca. RAMBLING HOUSE: The Rockhill Bruree Sportsfield Development committee held a traditional Irish rambling house on Friday night in Bruree Community Centre. The large crowd which attended was treated to a great night’s entertainment. The night started with Seamus Hunt on the bagpipes making a grand entrance up through the hall. With Michael Forde as MC, entertainers of all ages from, among other places, Charleville, Croom, Granagh, Kilmallock, Patrickswell, Newcastle West and Mourneabbey as well as from Rockhill and Bruree delighted the audience. We had music and song, stories and recitations from a very talented group of people. After a break for a lovely tea and the raffle, the entertainment continued to the National Anthem which rounded off a great night. Thanks to everyone who came along on the night, all those who performed and all those who helped organise the night.

The next Rambling House will be held on the first Friday in May, i.e. May 3rd, and looks like being a regular event on the first Friday of each month.

GAA: Mackey Winner: One of the big prizes in the April Mackey Stand draw came to Bruree last weekend when Fr. Desmond McAuliffe came out of the drum for a cheque for €2,000. We congratulate Fr. McAuliffe who joined the draw with Bruree GAA.

Cycle/Walk/Run: Bruree GAA will hold a fun cycle/walk/run on Sunday, April 28th, to raise funds for the Senior and Juvenile Clubs. This is about 10k and the walkers and runners/joggers will complete one circuit with the cyclists completing two. Participants can supports the fundraising in one of two ways - by filling a sponsorship card or by paying a participation fee on the day. Sponsorship cards will be distributed to all club members and players. Anyone else wishing to secure sponsorship can obtain a card from Johnny Wall (087)1264592.
