VISITOR FROM ARGENTINA : Home on a short holiday to visit his mother and family members, is Fr Chriss Oâ€™Donnell, a native of Meenoline who ministers in St Patrickâ€™s parish, close to Buenos Aires in Argentina. Fr Oâ€™Donnell is a member of the Pallotine Order and has been in Argentina since 1976. He concelebrated mass with Fr Hurley on Saturday evening and spoke to the congregation about our new Pope with whom he was familiar in Buenos Aires. He told the congregation about the increased attendance at masses and confessions throughout Argentina since Cardinal Bergoglio became Pope Francis.

The death occurred on Friday, April 5 of Michael Kennedy, Gortroe, Castletown, husband of Brigid Breen who is a native of Sugarhill, Templeglantine. After requiem mass on Monday his remains were laid to rest in Castletown cemetery. Beannacht DÃ© ar a anam.
DRAMA: The recently refurbished community centre in Monagea will be the venue on Friday, Saturday and Sunday night next, April 12-14, for the performance of â€œThe Chastitudeâ€ by John B Keane. The Arra Players, Newcastle West are hosting the three nights of drama with a starting time of 8.30pm and cead isteach 10 euro.

Three members of the craobh attended the Co. Luimnigh Scoil Fonn agus AmhrÃ¡n day at Manister on Sunday last. The craobh intends running a Summer Camp at Halla Inse BhÃ¡n during the first week of July catering for Primary School pupils of 8 years and upwards who have some experience of music. Dancing, singing and Gaeilge will also be part of the week. Those interested in attending should hand in their names at classes on Monday night next.
TRAIL NEWS: Walkers of the Great Southern Trail and others are invited to join in a walk from Kilmorna to Listowel on Sunday, April 28 at 9.00am. The event will take place along the road as the disused railway line along this stretch is not as yet available for use.
