The winners in the lucky dip draw were Lily Stack, Brosna, Sean Lyons, Meeng, Rockchapel, Mai Brosnan, Mountcollins, Nelius Doody, Tournafulla and Martin McGrath, C/o Kostal. The winner of the promoter’s prize was Jeremiah Naughton. This week’s jackpot will be 12,700.

Card Game: The winners of first prize at last weeks card game was the team of Jackie Hartnett, Pat Fitzgerald and Seamus Lenihan. In the runners up position was the teams of Marian Roche, Dave O Connell and Denis Flannagan and Tom Lenihan, Necia Lane and Betty Curtin . The door prize went to Ned Murphy with raffle prizes going to Eamon Sheehan, Dan Reidy, Jackie Hartnett and Marian Roche. Cards as usual on this Thursday night at 9pm in the Community Centre and all are welcome.

There will be a special fund raising night on Thursday week with all proceeds from the card game going towards the Motor Neurone Assocation and your support would be appreciated.

Tournafulla Bord na Nog: Indoor hurling training has now commenced in the Abbeyfeale GAA complex and continues every Sunday at 2pm for all ages from 7 to 13 years of age. Hurleys and helmets will be provided but please bring your own if you have the same.

A special appeal is made to all parents whose children attend Friday evenings training sessions in Tournafulla to devote an hour of their time in helping the children’s progress. With big numbers from under 6 to under 14 in attendance more help is required to train and supervise the attendance. The annual Tournafulla Summer Camp will be held from July 1st to July 5th.

Mountcollins GAA Club: Mountcollins Senior footballers have home advantage on this Saturday evening in round three of the County League at 7pm. Sean Finns (Rathkeale) provide the opposition. The two sides have already met in the West Senior Championship on Easter Monday with Sean Finns securing a six point victory.

The locals are struggling at the moment with emigration and retirements having a huge effect on the team. A win is now badly needed to boost the confidence of the side as they continue their preparation for the opening round of the championship against Galbaly on April 14th.

GAA Lotto: The numbers drawn in last week’s Mountcollins/Tournafulla GAA lotto were, 10, 13, 22 and 30. There was no winner of the jackpot prize. Lucky dip prizes went to Diarmuid O Callaghan, Tournafulla, Grace OConnor, Mountcollins, John Joe Roche, Rockchapel and Catherine Brosnan, Tournafulla. The winner of the promoters prize was Eileen Moroney. This weeks draw will be held in Kelly’s Bar, Tournafulla where the jackpot will be €3,000 and your continued support is appreciated.

Quiz Night: Mountcollins National School Parents Council are holding a fund raising quiz in Tommy Mick’s Bar on Friday, April 19th commencing at 9.30pm. Generous prizes will be on offer for the winners and there will also be spot prizes on offer during the evening. The entry fee is €5 per person and your support would be much appreciated.

Birthday Wishes: Congratulations to Betty Brosnan, High Rd, Mountcollins who marked a fantastic milestone in her life as she celebrated her 90th birthday on last Friday night. Family, Neighbours and friends gathered in the Community Centre to mark the occasion which commenced with a celebration of Holy Mass and concluded with a great party night atmosphere.

Recent Death: Sympathy is extended to the family of Johnny Fitzgerald, Knockaclarig, Rockchapel who was laid to rest in Mountcollins cemetery after requiem mass in Knockaclarig during the past week. May he Rest in Peace.
