SOCIAL: Our local Active Retirement Club held our Christmas Social in Deebert House, Kilmallock on Tuesday, January 22. There was a great attendance as usual, we had friends from the following clubs, Kilmallock, Dromin-Athlacca, Bruree, Rockhill, Feenagh-Kilmeedy, Granagh-Ballingarry and a great crowd from our own club, Ballyagran, Castletown and Colemanswell, we were served a beautiful meal from Margaret and her staff of Deebert House. Music on the day was provided by music maestro James O’Callaghan who kept everyone on their toes. A special word of thanks to everyone who brought raffle prizes and the ladies who sold the tickets. Thanks to Margaret and the staff at Deebert House for a lovely meal and the service on the day. Our next social will be in Castletown on Tuesday, February 26, see you there.

CONFIRMATION: The sacrament of Confirmation was administered to twenty four children in St. Michael’s Church, Ballyagran on Friday, January 18. Fr Tony Mullins was chief celebrant on the day assisted by Fr Joe Shire, Fr Charles O’Neill, choir mistress on the day was Michelle O’Donnell who did a wonderful job as usual with her pupils. The following are the pupils who were confirmed, Santiago Junquera Binchy, Aidan Donegan, Fearghal Cotter, Alison Carroll, Katie Carroll, Eoin Clifford, Ciara Cotter, jack Harding, Benjamin Herlihy, James Hourigan, Jason Kenny, Deborah Lynch, David Maher, Shannon Mason, Shannon McCarthy, Abby McDermott, Liam McDermott, Sarah McDermott, Cian McNamara, Roy Moloney, Killian Lynch Raftery, David Riordan, Emma Walsh, William White.

Presentations of symbols was read by Alison, they were presented by Killian, Roy, Jack, Santiago, Liam, Jason, Shannon, Eoin. The psalm was sung by Sarah McDermott, the Gospel Alleluia was sung by the choir. Readers, Fearghal, Ben, Abby, Emma, David, Ciara, Deborah, Aidan, Katie. Reflection after Holy Communion was read by David. As that group of children go forward we wish them every success in their path of life.

ICA: The next meeting of Ballyagran ICA will be held on Wednesday, February 6. There will be a guest speaker. Competition “a tea-pot”.

CASTLETOWN-BALLYAGRAN GAA LOTTERY: Numbers drawn: 5, 6, 9, 16. There was no jackpot winner.
