COMMUNITY GAMES: Our U10 Girls were out again at the weekend to play St. Kieran’s in the quarter finals. We were without two of our players but the six players we had put up a great performance. Claire Cronin started in goal with Ciara Ryan and Sorcha Hourigan in the back and Clodagh Dennehy and Caoimhe Hartnett up front. Emma Daly playing in her first game played up front and did very well. We controlled the game, putting plenty of pressure on St. Kieran’s goal and before long Caoimhe scored our first with a powerful shot. We continued to press but an error let St. Kieran’s in to make 1-1. But within minutes were were back in front with Caoimhe getting her second. We led 2-1 at half-time. Claire came out of goals and Clodagh went in. We continued where we left off and Claire, with her first shot on goal, put us 3-1 up. Claire, Sorcha and Emma were holding the St. Kieran’s attack at bay. Caoimhe got her third goal (her second hat-trick in two matches). St. Kieran’s never game up and as time ran out they got a second. Well done to all on a great team effort and thanks to all our supporters who cheered the girls on. Training on Friday night between 6 and 7 in Galvone.
