BRUREE/ROCKHILL COMMUNITY GAMES:Bruree/Rockhill community games are holding a talent competition on this Friday, 1st February, in the School Hall at 7.30pm sharp. We are looking for anyone who can dance, say a poem, sing or play an instrument. There is group and solo music, and modern/Irish dancing. Drama is also a feature. Selected competitors will go forward to represent Bruree/Rockhill in the first stage of the county competition.
The first round of the Under 11 Girls soccer commenced in Limerick City with our girls doing us proud and progressing to the second stage.
Itâ€™s a busy start to the New Year and the committee would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who are volunteering with coaching the children for the various events.

CALCUTTA CALLING: A very successful race night in aid of Calcutta calling was held at the Woodlands House Hotel recently. There was a very large attendance with good local support. Thanks to everyone who contributed to its success. All funds raised go directly to ongoing projects in Calcutta. A special thanks to the Woodlands House Hotel for their generous hospitality and continued support. Best wishes and a safe journey to the group of fifteen volunteers who headed off the Calcutta last Friday.
LIMERICKâ€™S BUILT HERITAGE: The sixth series of exploratory lectures on the theme of Limerickâ€™s Built Heritage will take place over six Tuesday nights at the County Hall in Dooradoyle starting at 8.00 pm each night. The remaining topics are as follows: Feb 12 Medieval Limerick Today: The Built Heritage, Feb 26 The Archaeology of Mills and Milling in County Limerick from an early medieval period to c. 1900, Mar 12 University of Limerick: a Technological University on the Banks of the Shannon, Mar 26 Limerick 2030. Admission is free every night.
MEMBERâ€™S DRAW: The Friends of BCR92.6FM will hold a four week confined members draw starting on Friday, February 8th, and on the following three Fridays. Members can win â‚¬500 each week. The draws will take place at the Ballyhoura Community Radio studios and the results will be announced on air and in The Vale Star.
