DRAMA:The Hillside Players production of â€œDonâ€™t tell the Wifeâ€ is retained into a third week, it will run in the Community Centre from Thursday to Saturday, January 31 and February 1 and 2. Curtain 8pm each night, booking 087 2655771.
SHORT FILM: The premier screening of the short film Vanner was shown at the Greenwood Inn on Saturday night of last week, a very big crowd attended, many from various parts of the country.
The film, 12 minutes long was shot last year on location in Ballyagran and Ardpatrick scenes were filmed in some of the scenic spots in both parishes over a period of three days. Local actress and writer Maeve McGrath penned the script, a touching and rather tragic story of a traveller family.
Good news for the production team is that the film is accepted at an international film festival in Chicago, USA later this year.
FRIARS GATE: Call Back Theatre presents Fred and Alice at Friars Gate Theatre, Kilmallock on Thursday January 31 and Friday, February 1 at 8pm. The piece is written and directed by John Sheehy of Mount Russell, and features Cora Fenton, currently on TV3â€™s new series â€œDeceptionâ€ and Ciaran Bermingham.
The show is due to have a three week run at Bewleyâ€™s CafÃ© Theatre, Dublin in February.
LADIES CLUB: The next meeting of the local Ladies Club will be held in the Community Centre, on Monday February 4 at 8pm, Mary Martin of the Civil Defence will attend, all are welcome.
