On Friday February 1st we will celebrate the Feast of St. Bridget, and, as is customary we will make our way to the Well in Kilbreedy to pay our respects and do our rounds throughout the day. We are very grateful to the Shier and kelly families who have facilitated the visitors to the Well for years.

Saturday next February 2 is the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord. Traditionally on this day, candles are blessed for use in the home and church during the coming year.

Anyone who wishes to have candles blessed should bring them to the church before the 8pm Mass on Saturday and label them for collection afterwards. Contributions towards church candles for the year will be appreciated.

Sunday February 3 is the Feast of St. Blaise. Blessing of the throats will take place before and after the 8pm Mass on Saturday evening and the 11am Mass on Sunday. We extend a very warm welcome to our Altar servers Amy Barry, Sarah Lynch and Róisin O’Shaughnessy who started serving Mass last week-end. Hopefully over the next few weeks they will be joined by others who are interested. Boys and girls from 4th class up are invited to join. Anyone interested should contact Martha Lynch (086 – 1556262) who has agreed to act as co-ordinator for the servers.
