Adare has been voted the tidiest town in Limerick in the national Tidy Towns competition.

Adare has been voted the tidiest town in Limerick in the national Tidy Towns competition.

THE town, which has been awarded a gold medal, was the only area in County Limerick to receive more than 300 points from the judges.

Ardpatrick, which received 298 points, was high commended by the judges and has been awarded a bronze medal as has Newcastle West.

Galbally, which recived 293 points was commended by the judges and Castleconnell received an endeavor award.

In addition to receiving the County Award, Adare also received an award for having the best bring bank in the Mid West.

Liimerick City Centre, which entered the Tidy Towns compeition for the first time this year, was awarded 238 points by the judges - the highest for any area in the city.
