BRUFF satellite company KBO Tooway Direct has announced ten new jobs nationally – five of which are in Limerick.

The firm, which provides broadband and satellite connections to homes across the country, is to create the positions in Bruff, Galway and Clonmel. Some 30 people already work for the firm.

It is one year into a five year deal with Satellite Solutions Worldwide to distribute a high-tech satellite service to domestic and commercial customers across Ireland.

The deal, which is worth more than €5 million, has already created four new full- and part-time positions in the areas of installation, sales and servicing, administration and call centre posts.

The firm has spent the past 12 months trialling the technology to ensure the best possible service to customers in the most remote parts of the country.

Its Tooway product delivers fast Internet access using proven satellite technology straight to homes anywhere in the country.

Denis Ahern of KBO said “This is a very significant deal for the company and one which copper fastens our already strong reputation. As Tooway is delivered direct to homes, via satellite, our service is available to everyone immediately.”

KBO was founded in 1999, and has an annual turnover of €4m.
