SOCCER: Our U11’s grabbed a thrilling 2-1 win away to Knocklong/Hospital last weekend. Jake O’Riordan gave us a super lead just before half time. Young Jake McNamara was outstanding throughout as were Aaron Hanley and Conor McGrath. With 10 minutes to go we conceded an equaliser, however at the death Jake curled a superb free kick into the top corner to give us victory. Our U10s were in action immediately after this game with 4 or 5 players involved again. In the first game we beat Knocklong/Hospital 1-0 with Sean McGrath scoring. Against Knocklong whites we won 4-1 the goals coming from Jake McNamara, Jake O’Riordan (2) and Oran O’Dea. In our final game we tired a little losing 3-1 to a strong Cappamore team with Daire O’Connor scoring our goal. Well done to all the players on the day.
