Church Notes: Reader for the Month of December at Meanus Mass is Aine Barry.

The Anniversary Mass on next Saturday night, 7th December, is for Jim and Kitty O Connor.

Practice for the children’s Nativity Play at Christmas will be held in Meanus Church on Monday night, 9th December at 7 p.m. All children welcome to take part.

Farewell Party: All Parishioners are cordially invited to attend at Scoil Dean Cussen, Bruff, on this Saturday night, 7th December at 8.30p.m. to bid a fond farewell to Fr. Joe Foley who has been curate in the Parish for the past sixteen and a half years. Fr. Joe is taking up a new appointment to the Parish of Abbeyfeale. A presentation will be made to Fr. Joe on the night on behalf of the parishioners of Bruff, Grange and Meanus as a sign of appreciation for his service, hard work and dedication during his years in the Parish. He will celebrate his final Mass in Bruff Church on that night, 7th December at 6 p.m.

Christmas Party: The Christmas Party for the Not-So-Young held in Meanus Community Centre on last Sunday was a great success with a large crowd attending. Mary Cronin acting as M C for the afternoon welcomed all present which included Canon Costello, Fr. Joe Foley, Sister Veronica and Sister Geraldine and called on Canon Costello to say Grace before a beautiful meal was served by the Ladies Committee to all present. Fr. Joe Foley, to mark his departure from the Parish next week was asked to cut the Christmas cake which was then served. After the meal all were entertained by the very popular Eddie Keogh who had most people on the floor dancing for the afternoon. Lots of prizes were raffled throughout the afternoon and a most enjoyable evening was had by all.

Santa Claus: The very popular Santa Claus will make a welcome return to Meanus again this year on Sunday, 15th December where he will attend at the Community Centre at 2 p.m. All the usual entertainment and refreshments will be available. A photographer will also be in attendance.

Keep Fit: takes place in Meanus Community Centre each Monday night commencing at 8p.m

The Parent Toddler Group has finished for the Christmas Holidays but will resume again in January.

Set Dancing is held in Meanus Community Centre each Wednesday night, commencing at 8.30 p.m. sharp. All welcome to attend.

Christmas Market: Bruff Heritage Group are holding their Annual Christmas Market this year on Saturday 14th December in the Old Courthouse Building. (Please note change of date). Anybody wishing to host a stall can get in contact with Paul on 087- 3945426.

Camogue Rovers GAA Club: The club held their Annual General Meeting on last Friday night and the following officers were elected for 2014: President- Jimmie Hogan, Chairman- Paddy Cusack, Assist Chairman- Peadar McCarthy, Secretary- Barry O Connor, Assist Sec- Steve Lyons, Treasurer- Helen Kinnane Assist Treasurer- Richie Ryan, P.R.O.- Eva O Rourke, Irish Officer- Mary Cronin, Co Board Delegates- Paddy Cusack and Pat Murnane. Coordinator for the Gaelic Grounds Development Draw- Richie Ryan. Team managers will be ratified at the January meeting.
