HEALING & ANOINTING SERVICE: On Monday night next December 9 a Healing/Anointing Service will be held at St. Andrew’s Church at 7pm. Visiting priestys will ber available to assist.
DEATHS: Pat Moloney Castle Street. There was widespread sadness at the news of the death of Pat Moloney at his residence in Castle Street on Thursday evening last. Survived by his wife Monica, sons David and Brian, grandson, Jack, brothers, sisters, brothers in law, sisters in law, nephews, nieces relatives and a large circle of friends, Pat was reposed at McCarthy’s Funeral Home on Saturday evening before removal to St. Andrew’s Church where the Requiem Mass was concelebrated on Sunday morning by Fr. Michael Hanley P.P. and Fr. Tim O’Leary P.P. Glenroe followed by burial in the local cemetery. The very large crowds that attended the Funeral Home, Mass and Burial bore testimony to the high esteem the late Pat Moloney and his family are held. Blackrock G.A.A. Club formed a Guard of Honour at the Removal and Burial and were joined by members of Staker Wallace G.A.A. Club, while Kilfinane Community Council members and Garda Niall McInerney looked after traffic control
Breda Morey (nee O’Callaghan) late West End. The death occurred last week in Stourbridge West Midlands of Mrs. Breda Morey at the age of 90, nee O’Callaghan late of West End She was the daughter of the late Peter O’Callaghan, many of the older members of the community will remember him as the First Aid man for Kilfinane Hurling teams over the years and would still visualise Peter running on the playing field with his small case and people often wondered what was in the case and what he was capable of doing in the event of a problem.
ST. VINCENT DE PAUL : Anyone in the Kilfinane, Ardpatrick, Glenroe and Ballyorgan area who. wish to be considered for Christmas Hampers this year are required to apply in writing to the Conference through St. Patricia at St. Paul’s Convent. These application should be made as soon as possible.

CHRISTMAS CAROL SERVICES: On Wednesday next December 11 the first of two Christmas Carol Services will be held at St. Andrew’s Church when the students of Scoil Pol will give their recital, while the following evening Scoil Fhionain will present their Carol Service. Both Services will commence at 7.30pm and plans are well advanced in both schools for a good evening of entertainment on Wednesday and Thursday next. While on the following morning Friday December 13, the pupils accompanied by the School Band, of Scoil Fhionain will be singing Christmas Carols on the Main Street.All are Welcome to attend.

KILFINANE COMMUNITY GAMES A.G.M. TONIGHT : The Annual General Meeting of Kilfinane Community Games will be held on this evening Thursday December 5 at 8pm in Teach na Cille. Our area has been extended to include children from Martinstown and Ballyorgan as well as Ardpatrick. The children in the 3 primary schools have just taken part in the Art Competition.
