Card Game: Three teams shared first prize at last weeks card game, 1. Tom Lenihan, Jimmy O Connell and Necia Lane, 2. Sean Lyons, John Lyons and Dan Brosnan, 3. Nora Lyons, Anita Danaher and Ann Cahill. The table prize was won by Marian Quirke, Dixie Quirke and Den Lane. The winner of the door prize was Jackie Hartnett with the raffle prizes going to Ann Cahill, Necia Lane, Pay Fitzgerald, Toddy O Connor and Florence O Connell. Cards as usual next Thursday night at 9pm in the Community Centre and all are welcome.

Christmas Lights: The Christmas lights extravaganza at the Noonan home in Templeglantine is now switched on. The display will continue until January 12th, 2014 and all voluntary subscriptions will be divided between five charities including Brothers of Charity, Milford Hospice, The Adare Branch of the Alzheimers Society and the Acquired Brain Injury branch in Castleisland.

On this Saturday evening December 7 there will be a monster Christmas party at 5pm with Santa arriving by sleigh. He will have free presents for all the children and there will be complimentary food and refreshments for children and adults. There will also be lively musical entertainment with the Carrickerry Wren Boys and all are welcome.

Soccer Lotto: The numbers drawn last weeks soccer lotto were 7, 20, 22 and 25. There was no winner of the jackpot prize. The winners in the lucky dip draw were Dean Maloney, Brosna, Edmond Doran c/o Kostal, Ciara Audsley, Mountcollins, ML O Connor, Tarbet and John J O Connell, Mountcollins. The winner of the promoter’s prize was Joan O Grady. This week’s jackpot will be 12,700.

Sale of Work: The annual sale of work will be held in the Mountcollins, Community Centre on Friday December 6th at 7.30pm. Items for the sale or donations can be given to any committee member and your support for the event would be greatly appreciated. This event pays the hall insurance for the year and we are very fortunate to have such a facility in the parish.

IFA Meeting: The annual general meeting of the Mountcollins branch of the IFA will be held tonight, Wednesday, December 4th at 8.30pm, in the Community Centre. All current and new members are welcome.

GAA Club Draws: The final Limerick GAA clubs development draw for 2013 will take place this Friday night December 6th. Please ensure your subscription is with your promoter prior to the draw and draw promoters are asked to collect any outstanding money which is due.

Club Na Nog: The officers elected to run Mountcollins Club Na Nog this year are, Chairperson, Mary Dillane, Assistant Chairperson, Liam Lane, Secretary, Con Lane, Assistant Secretary, Joan O Grady, Treasurer, Timmy Walsh, Assistant Treasurer, Kathy Lenihan, Pro, John Lyons.

Car Booth Sale: The annual car booth fund raising sale will be held in the Mountcollins Community Centre on Sunday, December 8 from 11am to 3pm. Why not come along and pick up a bargain for Christmas with all goods available at reasonable prices. Outside stall holders are welcome, please contact Mary, Joanie or Marian for booking.

Tea Dance: A Tea Dance will be held in Fr. Casey’s Gaa club on Sunday December 8th. Music will be provided by Donnie Walsh with dancing from 3pm to 6pm. Refreshments and spot prizes will be available during the evening. All proceeds in aid of The Ray of Sunshine foundation which will see local volunteers, Mary Barry, Patrick Lenihan and Seamus Hickey travel to Kenya in January 2014 to help in the construction of a school for deprived children in Mombasa.

GAA News: Yearly lotto tickets for the local GAA lotto draw are now available for a once off payment of €100. The payment of €100 entitles you to entry into the weekly draw plus two free draws, club membership and the club text messaging service which gives you all the news on games, fixtures and results. The yearly lotto is available to people at home and abroad. The closing date for membership has now been extended to January 6th to facilitate people returning home for the Christmas and have expressed an interest in joining the scheme.

G.A.A. Lotto: The members drawn in last weeks Mountcollins / Tournafulla G.A.A. lotto were, 4, 9, 14 and 26. There was no winner of the jackpot prize. Lucky dip prizes went to FR. Willie O Gorman, Tournafulla, Seamus Horgan, Tournafulla, Seamus Heffernan, Abbeyfeale and Noreen O Sullivan, Tournafulla. The winner of the promoters prize was Timmy Joe Horgan. This weeks draw will be held in The Goal Post Bar, Tournafulla where the jackpot will be €2,400 and your support is appreciated.
