CONGRATULATIONS: Best wishes to Aaron Cunningham and John Guilfoyle and all of the Clare panel who beat Antrim in the all-Ireland U-21 hurling final in Thurles.

SATURDAY MASS: This Saturday the time of the evening mass in SS John & Paul has been changed to 7.30pm due to the All-Ireland Final.

TIDY TOWNS: The Tidy Towns Committee are delighted with the great results of an increase of 3 points in this year’s National Competition and wish to thank all those involved in achieving such high standards: the volunteers who give so much of their time and efforts, the Residents Associations and those who strive to keep their areas clean and tidy.

A pat on the back to the Committee from the people of Shannon, who benefit greatly from all the glorious colour in flowerbeds, containers which were so much in evidence during the lovely Summer. Great credit due to you all! Congratulations.

PARKINSON’S ASSOCIATION: It is proposed to set up a branch of the Parkinson’s Association in Ennis for the benefit of sufferers, their carers and families in Co. Clare. FASHION SHOW: A Fashion Show at Carrigoran House will be held on Thursday 3 October . The night starts with a reception at 7.30pm. Tickets cost €25. All proceeds to Alzheimer and Elderly Care Services at Carrigoran House.

SET DANCING: St Senan’s Social Club resumes set-dancing classes in the Bellsfort with beginners at 8.30pm and advanced dancers at 9.30pm. The teacher is Mike Mahony and all are welcome to attend.
