KILFINANE ATHLETIC CLUB : Fantastic performances in Charleville Half Marathon : Charleville Half Marathon on Sunday last September 22, proved another huge success this year with numbers up significantly on the previous year. Well done to all who took part and to North Cork for putting on such a well organised event. Great to see so many from the club taking part with the blue and green very much to the fore. The results achieved certainly rank with the best set of results achieved by a group of club runners in a single race. Joe O Brien had a great run and was first home for the club in 84:03 with just 6 seconds to spare over Gary Egan. Great to see so many great times in hot conditions and to see some of our newer members completing the half marathon distance, which in it itself is a great achievement. Great credit must go to all for their consistent training in recent months. The training in Dromin under Coach Mike McCauliffe has certainly done wonders for the more established runners in the club. The results of Kilfinane AC runners are as follows: Joe O Brien 84:03, Gary Egan 84:09, Ruairi O Callaghan 87:47,Pat Irwin 90:00, Seamus Hourigan 89:55, Joe Hennessey 91:14,Liam Sheehy 98:27,John Meehan 99:18, Ben Begley 117:12, Helen Hartigan 127:47, Tina Hayes 138:45, Helen O’ Sullivan 1:41:18.Next up for the club is the Novice Cross Country on Sunday 29th September in University Limerick.
