GALBALLY COMMUNITY ALERT GROUP: We would like to thank everybody who subscribed so generously to the weekend church gate collection. Late subscriptions can be handed in to Catherine at the post office. The monies raised will be used to set up a Text Alert service in Galbally parish. Some of our members are already connected to Glenbrohane/Knocklong and Anglesboro text services. We wish to remind the public that if you see anything, anyone at all or any activity that looks suspicious to you, pleasephone Bruff Garda station on 061 382940

DUNTRILEAGUE GRAVEYARD: Limerick County Council have carried out a number of tests and probes in the site and have established that part of the site is suitable as a burial ground. A number of grave spaces will be made available in due course and this should alleviate the problem that exists in the Galbally graveyard, which is almost used up. The county council officials and the Church of Ireland Dean of Cashel will now carry out talks on the ownership of the site. Meanwhile the Community Enterprise Group(FAS) workers will commence cleaning work on the walls which surround the site later in the year after tidy towns work has finished (maybe earlier if there is no money made available to carry out the necessary works on behalf of the tidy towns campaign). Hopefully the tight financial situation will be overcome. Hopefully the public will be as generous as possible when the tidy towns collection will be taken up in July.

GALBALLY NS. MINI 7s: Well done to Galbally NS girls who contested the INTO 7 a side camogie competition in UL recently. Galbally represented South Limerick. Galbally played Killinure NS from East limerick and lost out narrowly by a goal. Then the local team had wins over Templeglantine NS from the west and Milford NS who represented the city. This left Galbally in 2nd position and they missed out narrowly on the shield. As runners up however Galbally NS have the consolation of being represented by one of the girls in Croke Park on All Ireland semi-final day / All Ireland final Day .This will indeed be a proud day for the school and indeed the whole of Galbally.Lets hope the Limerick hurlers will be there as well.
