Denis is survived by wife Vera, sons Ger, Mike, Richie and Tony, daughters, Mairead, Anne and Francis, brother and sisters, nieces, nephews, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, brother-in-law, relatives friends and neighbours. He was laid to rest in Kilcornan after requiem Mass in St. John the Baptist Church on Saturday last

RAMBLING HOUSE:The very popular Knockfierna Rambling House will hold a special night of storytelling, music, singing etc. at Kilfinny Community hall on Friday March 1st. at 8pm in what promises to be a wonderful nights entertainment. There is no admission fee. All are welcome.

GOING STRONG: The Stonehall Active Retirement have resumed their activities in the Community Centre and will continue each Monday evening. We would welcome new members.

WL102FM AWARDS NIGHT: Mick Flavin will provide the backing band at this year’s awards ceremony to be held at the Devon Inn on Monday, March 11 next. Some of the award winners include Jason Travers, Trudie Lawlor, Gary Gamble, Michael Collins, Crystal Swing and Sean Brennan. That’s only a flavour of the talent that’s being honoured on the night. RACE NIGHT: The Kilcornan Community Development Committee will hold a race night on 15th of March in Kilcornan House. All proceeds from this event will go towards they development of our new Astro-Turf facility in the Parish. As you are aware, this project has recently begun and all funds will be gratefully received. Horses will cost just €30 and you are also welcome to place an ad in our race programme at the following prices quarter page €30, half page €50 and full page €100. COMMUNITY COUNCIL: The Community Council in association with Stonehall Harriers held a very successful horse ride last Sunday with one hundred and thirty horses and ponies taking part. Their journey incorporated the ancient and historical Stonehall and the serenity and beauty of Curraghchase on a cold sunny day, ideal conditions. The Share A Dream Foundation will benefit from the fund raising. The organisers did a fine job and the route was carefully planned to incorporate the ancient and historical Stonehall and the serenity and beauty of Curraghchase. Thanks to everyone concerned, the ambulance people, local Gardai, all the stewards and a special thanks to Maureen and Ann and their staff at the Coach Inn who provided a complimentary bowl of stew for everyone present.

SALESIAN COLLEGE: It’s show time again in Salesian Secondary Collage Pallaskenry and this years production is the wonderful family show ‘The Wiz’ !

This musical is a modern adaptation on the classic tale ‘The Wizard of Oz’. This is a wonderfully colourful, energetic show which follows the original story but with a few new surprises thrown in along the way. Some of this years stars include Aimee Jones as Dorothy, Aaron Coughlan as The Wiz himself, Josh Fitzgerald as the Scarecrow, Jake Guerin as the Tinman, Ryan Kelly as the Lion, Lisa Blackwell as the wicked witch Evilenne, Holly Cussen as the good witch Addapearl and Zoe Lyons as the good witch Glinda. With a cast of over 50 transition year students, this is sure to be a wonderful evenings entertainment !

This is a fabulous family show and we would like to extend a welcome to you to attend. It will be shown on Thursday 7th, Friday 8th and Saturday 9th March 2013. Tickets €12 Adult, €6 student, family of 4 (2 adults 2 children) €30.

RELIC: The Salesian Order are delighted to announce the visit of The Relic of St. Don Bosco to Ireland. The Salesians came to Ireland in 1919 and their first home was to establish the Agricultural College and Secondary School in Copsewood, Pallaskenry. A great day of celebration is planned on Friday, 1st March. There will be a service for primary school children at 10am on Friday morning. A celebration mass for the secondary school and Agricultural College at 11.30am. There will be veneration time all afternoon with a celebratory mass in honour of Don Bosco at 8pm for the local community, past pupils and any person who would like to join us. COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE: There will be a Launch and Presentation on Monday evening March 4, at 8.30 pm in the Community Hall regarding the All Weather Astroturf Development. This meeting is open to everyone in the Community and will be an update of the progress so far. There will be opportunity for input from any interested parties and the committee welcome all comment and assistance. At the moment construction has been delayed by the inclement weather which shows that this development when completed will be a great amenity for everyone in the community. NATIONAL SCHOOL: Registration for pupils wishing to enrol in Junior Infants in Kilcornan National School is now taking place. Please contact the school for further details on 061-393304. An open day will be held on Thurs March 7th for all new entrants from 2 to 3pm.

THE WITNESS: Limerick Diocese is presenting “The Witness”, a musical about the life, death and resurrection of Christ, told through the eyes of St. Peter on Friday and Saturday March 8 and 9. This production is being staged in the magnificent New Limetree Theatre in Mary Immaculate College, Limerick. The show is produced by Fr.
