CHURCH AFFAIRS: The Mass Servers for St Ita’s church Ashford to commence their week this Sunday March 3rd Ben Mulcahy Mauricetown and T.J. Kelly Ballagh.

The reader for Ashford Mass this Saturday evening is Catherine Fitzpatrick with Eucharistic Ministers Ita McEnery and Denis Kirby and basket collector Michael Begley.

The reader for Raheenagh Mass this Sunday morning is Mary Doody with Eucharistic Minister Denis Casey and Patrick Forde and basket collector Aidan Forde.

SPONSORED WALK: Dromcollogher sponsored walk in aid of the Respite Care Centre takes place this Sunday March 3rd commencing at 12 noon from the Square. The distance is five miles. If that time doesn’t suit you can walk in your time. Sponsorship cards are available by ringing 063-83934 or you might like to give a donation. All greatly appreciated. Dromcollogher Mayfair/ Dick Bradley Memorial Rally on Sunday 19th May.

CARERS COURSE: A carer’s course will commence in St Ita’s Hospital on Thursday March 7th. Further information 061-469313.

KANTOHER CO-OP RE-UNION: A Re-Union of those involved with Kantoher Co-Op is being organised. BOWLS CLUB: The West Limerick Indoor Bowls Club meets every Thursday night in Halla Tadhg Gaelach in Tournafulla at 7:30pm. A junior section for people over 14 years is also available. New members are welcome at any time, and visitors are welcome to view the game and enjoy the proceedings. The contact number is 069-81936 for further information.

W.L CLUB: The West Limerick set Dancing Club next music session is scheduled for Sunday March 17th. Music on the night by The Striolan Ceili Band with proceedings commencing at 9pm, more details later re the venue and all are welcome.

ADORATION: The Apostolate of Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration continues this Friday in Ashford Church from 10am to 7pm. The faithful are welcome to spend one hour per week of their choice in the loving company of Jesus Our Saviour. All with time on their hands please reflect on same.

CAR BOOT: The next car boot sale and indoor market will take place on St Patrick’s Day Sunday March 17th in aid of W.L. 102fm. The venue is the Community Centre Newcastle West with gates opening at 7:30am for stall holders and public admission from 8am onwards. More details from the station on 069-66200 or organiser. Have a good spring and flog same.

AWARDS NIGHT: West Limerick 102fm 6th entertainment awards night takes place at Devon Inn Hotel Templeglantine on Monday March 11th. Music for the night is by Mick Flavin. Admission is €15. Doors will open at 7:45pm and the show will start at 8:30pm. There is a raffle also on the night for fantastic prizes. For more information contact 069-66200.

KNOCKFIERNA: The very popular Knockfierna Rambling House will hold a special night of storytelling, music, singing etc at Kilfinny Community hall on Friday March 1st at 8pm. This promises to be a wonderful night’s entertainment. There is no admission fee and all are welcome.

CARDS: Congratulations to the card winners from the Hall in Raheenagh. The week one winners were first €150 to Jamie Dore and Maurice Dore. Second €120 divided among Mary Anglim, Con Shanahan with Tony Kelly and Dennis Aherne.

The table winners at €20 per table were Kathleen and Joan, Roger and Partner, Kathleen and Joan. The raffle winners were €50 to Eileen Lyons €30 to Breda Roche, €20 Pat Kennelly and €20 to Breda Roche.

Week two winners i.e. the recent game. First and second prize divided among Noel and Curly, Pat and Kitty, Breda and Joan. The table winners were at €20 per table Margaret and Dan, Mary and Con, Monica and Pauline. The raffle winners were €50 Donal Mulcahy, €30 Monica Daly, €20 Pauline and €20 to John Newman. The cards continue on Tuesday nights at 9pm sharp in the Hall Raheenagh and all are welcome.

LOTTO: St Ita’s Filed Development recent lotto results as follows with numbers drawn 3, 4, 24 and 26. There was no Jackpot winner and the match three for €75 was Noreen Downey Ballintubber and seller Willie O’Brien. The four €30 lucky dip winners were Joan Browne Killeedy seller Kevin Browne, N. Nash seller Eddie Carmody, Damien Breen seller Damien Breen, Joanne Relihan Ashford seller Joanne Relihan. This week’s draw for a jackpot of €4,300 takes place at The Village Inn Ashford on Thursday night. Lines now on sale from any soccer member at €2 each or three for €5.

COFFEE MORN: This Wednesday February 27th a charity fundraising coffee morning in aid of St Gabriel’s School and Centre for children with multiple disabilities and developmental delay and the Adare Alzheimer’s Centre takes place in Adare Manor Hotel and Golf Resort Club House at 1aam. BINGO: The annual monster bingo night in aid of Killeedy first response group will take place on Wednesday April 3rd at 8:30pm sharp at the Community Hall in Raheenagh. Fabulous prizes on the night to be won including €2,000 and spot prizes make a note for your diary.

CEILI: On Friday March 15th i.e. St Patricks weekend the monthly ceili will continue at Halla Tadhg Gaelach in Tournafulla. Music on the night by Johnny Reidy Ceili Band with Tea and refreshments for all.

CONCERT: The local Comhaltas concert is scheduled for March 9th to commence at 8pm. As is the norm the venue is the Hall Raheenagh and all are welcome.

THE WITNESS: A musical by Carol & Jimmy Owens. The Witness is the story of Jesus, told and sung by Peter and the other men and women who knew the Master best. Featuring a great cast and coordinated by Fr. Terry Loughran. “The Witness” a musical, will be presented by the Diocese of Limerick, in the Lime Tree Theatre, Mary Immaculate College, on Friday 8th and Saturday 9th March at 8pm. This production which is being staged just before Easter is an ideal opportunity for parishes, youth groups, as well as individuals to participate in a meaningful and relevant way in the Year of Faith and to enter into the spirit of the season of preparation for the events of Holy Week.
