THANK YOU: The Normile family of Marian place would like to express their sincere gratitude to the players and management of Glin Rovers soccer club for the Saint Stephens day charity match in aid of Pieta house and Console Limerick. A total of E1480 was raised and divided equally between both charities. A sincere thank you to everybody who took part and donated to these very worthy causes. Finally a heartfelt thank you to Barretts Bar, Wallaces Bar and Shaughnesseys Bar who very kindly took up the bucket collections.

FASHION SHOW: Tarbert Comprehensive School Parents Association presents a Fashion Show in Ceol Corbrai, Glin, Friday 8 March at 8pm. On the night there will be a wine and cheese reception, raffle, door prize and a spot prize. Tickets are E10. For tickets please contact 0877941471.

GLIN BABY & TODDLER GROUP: every Thursday in Ceol Corbrai Hall from 10 til 12 noon. Light refreshments for the adults and fruit/toast/juice for the children. E3 per family. All welcome.

THE WITNESS: A musical by Carol and Jimmy Owens. The Witness is the story of Jesus, told and sung by Peter and the other men and women who knew the Master best. Featuring a great cast and coordinated by Fr. Terry Loughran. “The Witness” a musical, will be presented by the Diocese of Limerick, in the Lime Tree Theatre, Mary Immaculate College, on Friday 8 and Saturday 9 March at 8pm. This production which is being staged just before Easter is an ideal opportunity for parishes, youth groups, as well as individuals to participate in a meaningful and relevant way in the Year of Faith and to enter into the spirit of the season of preparation for the events of Holy Week. WEST LIMERICK RESOURCES: As you will see a petition has been started by Helen Broderick from Abbeyfeale regarding the proposed changes to the local development sector and West Limerick Resources. Under the recently published Government policy document “Putting People First” it is now being proposed to align the local government and local development sectors, putting the future existence of West Limerick Resources into question. While mainly focusing on reforming Local Government, this report has huge implications for the Community Development Sector in general and West Limerick Resources. KNOCKFIERNA RAMBLING HOUSE: The very popular Knockfierna Rambling House will hold a special night of storytelling, music, singing etc at Kilfinny Community hall on Friday March at 8pm. So mark your diary for Kilfinny Community Hall on Friday March 1 at 8pm for what promises to be a wonderful nights entertainment. There is no admission fee. All are welcome.

WL102FM AWARDS NIGHT: Mick Flavin will provide the backing band at this year’s awards ceremony to be held at the Devon Inn on Monday, March 11 next. Some of the award winners include Jason Travers, Trudie Lawlor, Gary Gamble, Micheal Collins, Crystal Swing and Sean Brennan. That’s only a flavour of the talent that’s being honoured on the night.
