Obituaries: Tommy Richardson, Monastery Road, who was laid to rest on Wed. 15th Jan. May he rest in peace. Sympathy to the bereaved. Margaret Casey (mother of Josephine Ryan, Cliggin) who was laid to rest in Grange on Sun. 19th Jan. after 2pm Mass. Mary Martin, Glasha Talann, who was laid to rest on Sun. 19th in Doon. Betty Breen, Lisowen – funeral Mass on Mon. 20th January in Doon.

Recently Christened: we welcome into our community Frankie Beau Nolan.

Irish Blood Transfusion Service: will be holding a blood donor clinic in Pallasgreen Community Centre on Thur. 30th Jan from 6-9pm. All welcome.

Scoil na Trionoide Naofa: will hold an information night for incoming 1st year students and parents on Tue. 28th Jan in Ballykisteen Hotel & Golf Resort at 7:30pm. You and your child are invited to attend.

Conference: entitled “Exploring the link between sport & spirituality” will be held in St. Patrick’s College, Thurles on 24th & 25th Jan. The conference will be of interest to a variety of sport practitioners, including coaches, manager, players, athletes & those with a genuine interest in sport, psychology & spirituality.

Anam Cara: is holding its monthly parent evening on Mon. 27th Jan from 7:30-9pm at the Horse & Jockey Hotel, Thurles. This event is free & open to all bereaved parents.

Doon Community Council: are coming to the end of their term. Preparations are underway for elections to be held on Sun. 9th Mar. Nomination forms will be posted out to all household in the parish of Doon on Mon. 13th Jan. If you do not receive a nomination form please contact Stephen Byrne on (086) 3035646. A member of the Garda Siochanna will be present in the Community Centre on the first & last Thur. of every month, between 11am & 1pm.

Doon Community Centre: from Mon 20th Jan. the following classes will take place. Mon: Aerobic tennis 7-8pm, Pilates 8-9pm. Tue: Mother & baby club 10-12am, Irish dancing 6-7pm, Zumba 7-8pm, Unislim 7:30-8:30pm. Wed: Ketttlebells 7:0-8:30pm. Fri: GAA nursery 7-8pm. Sat: Red cross cadets 5:30-6:30pm. Sun: Progressive 45 cards.

CBS Primary School: The parent’s council of the primary school are holding a cake sale after all Masses in Doon next weekend, 25th & 26th Jan. The cake sale will be held in the Pastoral Centre (old library). All proceeds go to support the school. Donations of cakes, buns, etc. or items for raffle prizes would be appreciated. Your support would be appreciated.
