Exercise Classes: Exercise classes have resumed in the Resource Centre in Loughill every Friday night at 7.00 p.m.

Set Dancing: The set dancing lessons continue in the hall in Ballyhahill every Monday night at 8.30 p.m. Everyone welcome.

Ballyhahill/Loughill Guild of the ICA: The January meeting of the Ballyhahill/Loughill ICA took place in the hall Ballyhahill Tuesday night last 14th. January. It was great to see a budding new member present also. The guild is always open to new members joining them and a welcome is guaranteed. After the minutes and correspondence and competition there was the usual mix of good banter and conversation with the cup of tea which everyone enjoys. The members are extremely grateful for the unexpected visit from Paul Murphy who on behalf of the Tenekilla Wrenboys gave a generous donation to the guild. On top of that Paul sang a verse of “If you’re Irish”. It was a lovely end to a pleasant January meeting.

Rathfredagh Cheshire Home Annual Walk: Rathfredagh Cheshire Home Annual Walk is taking place this Sunday January 26th. at 10.00 a.m. from Barna to Rathfredagh Cheshire Home along the old railway line. Transport is provided from Rathfredagh to Barna on the day. For people who only decide to walk from The Courtney Lodge in Newcastle West to Rathfredagh transport will be provided also for them also if they wish to avail of it. This year there is also a cycle taking place in conjunction with the walk. The cycle will start at 9.00 a.m. from Deebert House Hotel Kilmallock to Rathfredagh Cheshire Home and the return journey from Rathfredagh Cheshire Home to Kilmallock takes place at 11.30 a.m. Refreshments will be provided on the day. Set Dancing Weekend: The West Limerick Set Dancing club will be holding their workshop from Friday February 7th. to Sunday February 9th at the Devon Inn in Templeglantine.

Do This in Memory of Me: Do this in memory of me programme will take place for the Holy Communion children this Sunday 26th January at the 10.00 a.m. Mass in Ballyhahill. A practice will take place on Friday 24th January at 7.00 p.m. in Ballyhahill Church.

The Diocese of Limerick – An Illustrated History: A new history of the Diocese of Limerick has just been published. This includes a short history of each Parish and each Parish Church throughout the Diocese. The book is now available for sale in the Sacristy after Mass for €20 a copy. This is a great book and it would make a lovely present!

Masses: Mass will be celebrated in Loughill Church Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday evenings at 6.00 p.m.

Mass will be celebrated in Ballyhahill Church Wednesday and Thursday mornings at 9.00 a.m and 10.00 a.m. on Sunday morning and there will is mass Friday evening at 8.00 p.m.

Rainbow’s Support Programme for Children: Rainbows is a free support group for children between the ages of four and twelve years of age that is designed to assist children and young people who are grieving a death, separation or any other painful transition or change in their family. Rainbows is run by trained volunteers and is held for an hour every week for twelve weeks. The programme is a safe, confidential setting where children can share their grief associated feelings with each other and with trained facilitators. It is not a counselling or therapy service. Stop it Nurse: Athea drama group presents a production of the comedy ‘Stop it Nurse’ by Sam Cree. Performances will take place in Con Colbert Memorial Hall in Athea on Thursday January 23rd, Sunday 26th, Thursday 30th, Saturday 1st. February and Sunday 2nd. February at 8.00 p.m. nightly. This play promises great laughs and it is suitable for all age groups. The show is set in the men’s surgical ward of a hospital which is run by a stern ward sister. This Play is directed by Theresa O’Halloran and critics say it is a play not to be missed!!

Afternoon Tea Dancing: The first of the afternoon tea dances for 2014 will be held at Fr. Casey’s hall in Abbeyfeale this Sunday January 26th from 3.00 to 6.00 pm. This will feature the music, songs and stories of the very popular Big Maggie. This is a fundraiser for our local community radio station West Limerick 102FM. There is a raffle and tea will be served. Admission is only €5. Your support will be greatly appreciated.
