Seven Steps: The next seven steps meeting will take place in Castlemahon sacristy on Monday January 27 at 7.30pm. All interested in taking part are welcome to attend.
Bishop to visit Parish: On this weekend January 25/26 Limericks new bishop Brendan Leahy will pay his first visit to Mahoonagh Parish. On Saturday night he will celebrate the 7.30pm mass in Castlemahon church and following mass he will meet the parish pastoral council in Castlemahon Sacristy. On Sunday the Bishop will celebrate the 11am mass in Feohanagh church after which he will attend the senior citizens party in the Red Setter Lounge Castlemahon where all present will get the opportunity to meet the Bishop. At 3pm on Sunday afternoon he will meet the Board of Management of Mahoonagh N.S after which he will bless the schools new extension which comprises of two full size classrooms and three resource rooms. Looking forward to favourable weather conditions and good attendances for both masses and a most successful first visit to Mahoonagh Parish by Bishop Brendan Leahy.
Senior Citizens Party: This years senior citizens party will take place on Sunday January 26 at 1.30pm in the Red Setter lounge, Castlemahon. Bishop Brendan Leahy will celebrate the 11.00am mass in Feohanagh Church and will attend the senior citizens party afterwards. All senior citizens in the parish are invited and very welcome to attend. In order to know the number in attendance this year , we would appreciate if anyone interested in attending could give their name to Annette Coughlan or Tom Kennedy as soon as possible.
Rathfredagh Annual Walk: Get your visibility jackets ready for the annual sponsored walk in aid of Rathfredagh Cheshire Home which will take place on Sunday next, 26th January which will commence at 10.00am. Looking forward to good support for the walk as in previous years and we hope suitable weather conditions will prevail. All interested in taking part are welcome to join in along the way. Feohanagh man weds in Kilkenny: Despite the wet and windy weather around Christmas Feohanagh man Thomás McAuliffe son of Ita and the late Neil, made the journey from Australia to wed Dublin born Mary Halpin on Monday 30th December in St John the Evangelist church Kilkenny at 1.00pm. The celebrant for the mass was Fr Jimmy O’Donnell, Best man was Patrick Lomasney and groomsmen were Jerry McAuliffe John Kearney and Donal Mullane. Chief Bridesmaid was Helen Heslin and other Bridesmaids were Louise Halpin, Emma O’Dea and Alex Haslin. Page boy was Dylan McAuliffe. Flower girls were Rachel McAuliffe, Susie Halpin and Julie Halpin. Offertory gifts Maeve Halpin and Ita McAuliffe. Music by Minosa. Congratulations to Mary and Thomás , wishing the happy couple many years of blissful married live together.
Collection for the homeless:The church gate collection which is to be taken up in Castlemahon and Feohanagh church on the weekend of February 1 and aid of the Homeless Organisation. By Supporting this collection you will be helping to provide housing shelter and support for those who are homeless and it will be appreciated.
