KNOCKAINEY COMMUNITY CENTRE AGM: will be held in the Community Centre on Thursday January 30th at 8.30pm. It is important that all clubs/organisations using the Centre be represented at this meeting. Each club/organisation is asked to send one representative to this meeting.

IRISH BLOOD TRANSFUSION SERVICE: will hold a blood donor clinic in Knockainey Community Centre on Thursday January 23rd from 6pm to 9pm

LIMERICK BIRDWATCH OUTING: to Lough Gur and later on to the Ballingarry area to view the spectacular Murmuration of Starlings- Saturday 25 January 2014. Meet at Lough Gur Visitor Centre at 2pm sharp where you will be given a brief introduction to the Heritage of the Lough Gur Area and then we will walk around the lake and general vicinity to observe some of the water birds present like cormorant, Chinese goose, tufted duck, teal, wigeon, shoveler, coot, moorhen. You can also continue to Ballingarry if you wish to see the Murmuration of Starlings at around 5pm. The starlings have been swooping and swishing in huge numbers already up to 60,000-80,000 approx. If coming along for part or all of the trip do wear warm dark clothing and rain gear.

KNOCKAINEY AFC LOTTO: There was no winner of the lotto last week which was held in Jack Lynch’s Bar, Knockainey last Friday night. The numbers drawn were 2, 3, 20 & 21. Lucky dip winners 4 x €20: Sinead Leo, Aoife Barron, Sean Keating & Peggy Ryan. Seller’s prize €20: Eileen Barron. SOCIAL DANCING: got off to a great start in Bulgaden Castle last Wednesday night with Dermot Lyons, a capacity crowd and refreshments. Dancing will continue on Wednesday January 29th with the wonderful “Checkers” at 9.30pm, and will continue every second Wednesday night.
