REMEMBRANCE MASS: A Remembrance Mass for deceased members of our Parish Community will be held on Friday 15th of November at 8pm. November is that special time of the year when we remember our loved ones. We would like to invite you and members of your family to this year’s Mass. We pray that it will be an occasion that will bring consolation to all who attend. Please share this invitation with your relatives and friends.

PARISH HISTORIES: A book on the history of all the parishes in the Diocese will be available to purchase shortly. Cappagh are getting 100 copies of this book. This book is a once off publication and will cost €20, normally would retail at €35. To secure a copy of this publication, please leave your name into the sacristy with €20. Please bear in mind that there is only 100 copies for Cappagh. This book would be a lovely Christmas present.

CONSOLE: Console is holding the annual Christmas ‘Celebration of Light’ service in the Augustinian Church, O’Connell Street, Limerick at 4.00 p.m. on Sunday, 1 December, to remember loved ones lost to suicide.

AUCTION: Cappagh Community Council and the Methodist Church are holding a joint fundraising auction on Friday 15 November in Cappagh Hall. Viewing starts at 7.30pm and the auction will start at 8pm. Come along and support us! We will also be looking for donations of goods and services suitable for auction. Soft furnishings like sofas and cloth-covered seats do not sell so please do not donate. The same applies to electrical goods as we cannot give a guarantee of safety or any kind of legal undertaking on them. Hall will be open to accept all goods on Thursday 14 November from 6pm-8pm and from 2pm to 4pm on Friday 15 November. Call Marianne for more details on 0863007709. DOG NIGHT: The Board of Management and the Parents Association are holding a family night at the dogs. This fundraiser is in aid of St. James School, Cappagh on Friday 29 November at Limerick Greyhound Stadium. First Race at 7.45pm. The cost is €10 per adult, U16’s free. Face painting and nail art for younger children. Proceeds from the night are going towards the refurbishment of two school classrooms. Thank you in advance for your support. Look forward to seeing you on the night. Committee members will be selling tickets in the parish over the coming weeks.

FOROIGE: Well what a night we had in Cappagh Hall last Saturday night, feet were tapping, hands clapping to great mix of best traditional Irish music, dance with great popular classics. The craic and banter was brilliant and we raised over €200 for Trócaire. A big huge THANK YOU to all our brilliant entertainers, our fine audience and especially our Foróige members in the back room team, who made sure everyone and everything was taken care of on the night. Foróige Cappagh members, take a bow.

CEILI: West Limerick 102FM are holding a Ceili Night in Knockaderry Community Centre on Friday night 22 November starting at 9.30pm. Music by Donie Nolan. Admission €10 and tea/coffee served. Raffle on the night.

FARM SHOP: The Community Council are holding a market of locally grown organic produce – FARM SHOP in the Community Hall on Thursday of each week from 11.30am to 12.30pm and from 1.30pm to 4pm. The Community Council wishes to thank those supporting the shop each Thursday. It has a loyal following, but needs more support from the parish at large to be worthwhile. Profits earned will go towards maintenance of the hall. Please support your local Community Hall.

KEEP FIT: Adult keep fit classes are held every Wed. night in Cappagh Hall from 7-8pm. Cost €6 per class. Aerobic workout, dance, Zumba, Circuits. All welcome.Kids Classes: Run every Wed. after school, Dance, Drama,& singing all in one class. Age 4-13 yrs. For more info: 087–7718988.

SOCIAL CLUB: The Alzheimer Society of Ireland hold a Social Club for people with dementia and their carer, in a supported environment, which takes place each Tuesday morning in the Woodsfield House Hotel, between 11am and 1pm. There is no charge to attend and tea and coffee are provided. Please phone Mary at 061-313456 if you would like to attend, or just call to Woodsfield House Hotel on Tuesdays from 11am.
