ST FERGUS N.S. PARENTS ASSOCIATION: would like to thank all the children and their parents for their support of the “Halloween Fundraising Disco”. A total of E514.20 was raised on the night. This is much appreciated. A great time was had by all.

GLIN RED CROSS CHURCH GATE COLLECTION: The Glin Branch of the Red Cross will be taking up a church gate collection on Saturday and Sunday 16 and 17 November 2013. Your generous support of this worthy cause will be greatly appreciated.

GLIN RED CROSS CFR TRAINING: Glin Red Cross are holding another Cardiac First Responder course at the end of this month. This is a follow on to the recent successful training course where another 10 people were trained in mid-August. It is wonderful to see the great level of interest that the local people in Glin have in becoming trained in CFR and in being able to operate the many defibrillators that are stationed around the parish. Please put the emergency number into your phone if you have not already done so. The number is also printed in laminate form and is on view on the windows of our shops and business premises throughout the town. The number is 0876230032. ATHEA FISHING CLUB: The Fishing Club are holding a family get together evening, BBQ on Sunday next 17 November from 6-9pm in Brown Joe’s Bar Athea/ Enjoy some delicious food in Tommie’s ever so popular Marquee out the back and then pop in to the sound of song and music by Kevin Barry. Come along and support our fishing club. Lots of spot prizes on the night.
